Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice

Knee injury I am a month on from my first kitemare. I was riding with a buddy and lit on a 17 in around 15mph wind. A gust hit and I pointed down wind to ride it out with the kite at around 45 deg off the water. When I did I went over a piece of chop and my back leg (left) came out of the foot strap...

Re: Getting a knot out of a line

The hammer method just makes me feel better when working a knot out of a line though.

Re: How are strutless kites doing ?

I have a 17 C1 and it is a very different kite to fly. My experiences echo the majority of the comments here....water on the canopy stinks, it tops out really quick, and there are loads of quirks with the kite. All that said it is a kite that I keep reaching for and keep flying. I enjoy learning to ...

Re: Attention Rebel Veterans

One of my buddies has some 2008 Rebels (9m and 14m) and a 2011 Rebel (12m). He was just telling me the other day how unbearably heavy the bar pressure gets on his 2008 14m when he gets powered. I've never ridden it myself. I have 2011, 2012, 2013 Rebels and I'd say that the bar pressure is medium, ...

Re: WTF

I have been seriously considering one of these: http://www.nautiluslifeline.com/

marine radio with GPS coordinates. It is not satellite but should be able to get someones attention where all my kite spots are in line of sight to other water traffic.

Re: What's the value of a pinhole?

unless I was willing to ship the kite back and erase the whole deal, I would just put a bit of tape over it and move on. It isn't a leading edge or strut and would really not be noticeable with tear aid on it.

Re: Can I touch the bar?

I was standing with a friend (his kite was in the air I had stopped rigging to talk to him) when a guy came up and wanted to talk about the kites. After a couple of the normal questions about how much pull of the kite and doesn't it take a lot of upper body strength? My friend said something to the ...

Re: Keeping your car clean

I use a plastic bin as well for all my wet stuff. That seems to keep the water to a manageable level. Boards go into bags that helps with sand. I have cargo area mats for my jeep so that also makes clean up easier, just shake them out every now and then.
