Re: Switch QR failed me

Your Switch QR fails to release and then you mention afterwards that this is a Frankenstein bar build that you created. Ok. In addition to rinsing my Switch QR I will hit the interior with a silicone based lubricant when it feels "sticky". I kite on the coast which means sand and salt, rinsing will ...

Re: GoPro views

i see there are a lot of opinions on this topic. if you only have one camera, go with a line-mount. I've been using the camrig, but someone mentioned the Beastmount, and I can attest that the camrig is a hassle to mount. I'm going to try out the Beastmount. If y...

Re: How I Learned to Stop Worrying about the wind and Love the Board

I recently started skating pools and bowls or what is known as skating "transitions". Here is footage of a guy named Pedro Barros who is one of the best at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AP0Sbj5Jdo This and snowboarding are the most similar activities to kiting in waves to me. The other thin...

Re: most minimalistic line mount for gopro hero5 session

as far as i can tell, there is currently no line mount for the go pro hero 5. This go pro is waterproof so it doesn't rely on an exterior housing for waterproofing. Camrig will eventually come out with a mount that fits it, but that may take some time.

Re: Survey for an electric skateboard

Is this kinda what you are talking about designing: http://www.leiftech.com ? They've taken a Freeboard, http://freebord.com and mounted and electric motor. Haven't tried either, but it definitely looks like fun. Anyone tried either of these and able to talk about how similar it is to kiting in wave...

What to do when no wind but waves

I kite in waves. Recently a bud pulled me behind his wakeboard boAt, I was on a strapless surfboard. What an adrenaline rush. I'd seen video of "wake surfing" , but this wasn't like thAt. This was full on down the line fully powered surfing, very much like what we do with kites in the ocean, but lik...

Re: Gopro studio - driving me crazy

Can everyone please stop shitting on GoPro Studio. Seriously, wtf? We get it, you are a knowledgeable video editor, and you think the GoPro Studio is garbage. Whatever. It wasn't design for you, so lay off. It was designed to be as simple as possible, so that someone without any A/V knowledge could ...

omg, the sentence structure on the Takoon website is priceless. makes you question the quality of their product if this is what they put out as the face of their company.

Re: Dirty little secret of strapless boosting?

The technique that I never see discussed is sheeting in during the descent. So you've reached the apex of your jump, wind is pushing against the bottom of your board, you send your kite down while sheeting in and pointing your board down wind. The sheeting in part causes your body to press down onto...
