What is the of name clamp/tie that secures the tubing

What is the of name clamp/tie that secures the tubing that connects the hose coming of the leading edge to the hose that connects the struts. Kind of like a self locking hose clamp - but for kites. (kite in question - flexifoil atom -- but the same thing is used in all my other one pump kites) It is...

kitesurfing (off sorts) in a swimming pool

Have not posted here for many years. But was trying to introduce my 12 yr old to kitesurfing. Had a brainwave which actually worked. We have access to an outdoor 25m pool - that is not shut at night (when it was empty) Got some extention ropes and was able to run around the pool - and pull my son on...

question for kitesurfing optometrists/opthalmologists

Have had conjunctivitis for 1 week now. Most likely due adenovirus (have persistant pharyngitis as well) Now not particularly keen on the idea of kiting with salt/sand being splashed into red/itchy eyes - but apart from irritation during kitesurfing - am I prolonging the recovery of the conjunctivit...

What was kite surfings quantum leap in safety

I was browsing through classified ads the other day and noted (anabatic) flogging a second hand nemesis HP. The comment being that one should avoid pre 2007 equipment as it was naff and dangerous. Though I will admit to being a kook for more than my fair share of time; I really have not found myself...

Question for panchito

Panchito - mate - I have snapped my chickenloop line - cheeper and effective option has been to get rope from a sail shop to attach to chickenloop to the rest of the centreline entrails q1 - how long should the throw of the bar be? q2 - with the bar fully sheeted in - if I have everything correctly ...

Re: Teaching small kids

Given the inherent risks involved - unless and until they show an interest in giving the sport a go themselves - do not even consider it. Interesting though - in someways kids in theory look like they could be such good kite boarders - ie if you look at children doing monkey bars they are incredible...

Why use board leashes in waves??

Reading through some of the posts - comments have been made that - if one is to use a board leash - a wave setting would be a situation where this is appropriate( a saftey enhancing feature). I can't think of a more needless situation for a board leash. If you are a beginner or a board loser - the o...

Re: alternative ways of self landing ozone instinct --6th line

Interesting comment - flying an instinct on a standard 5line bar. I have a rebel 9m; which I have been using in preference when alone - has any one flown the instinct on a non ozone instinct bar? I am not sure I want to be the first to give it a go. (Does the dynamic 5th line give the kite its stabi...
