Well yeah, but what is crossover? Same as I said before... it sounds like "all-round" (i.e. freeride) to me, but not sure if that's right since they have other boards they explicitly call "all-round."

Re: 2015 Shinn Boards Released - Anyone tried them?

Just put my first session on my new Monk Lover and was quite satisfied! Absolutely stupid question... on the Shinn board selector page the Monk is listed as "X-over/Freestyle." What is X-over? I'd assume it means all-around or freeride, but they already are using the term "all round" on other boards...

Thanks for all the input! I'll probably buy one of the two suggestions here. :D

Waterproof mp3 player case/headphones recommendations?

I have a cheap $20 mp3 player I'd like to throw in a waterproof case/headphones combo and take with me kiting. There are so many products to choose from... anybody have any recommendations, or insights as to which ones might work better/worse for kiting setup?

Thanks!

Re: Softest landing board

Yup, the Mako lands like a rock. I'm pretty decent at sent jumps by now but still screw up my timing every now and then on a huge one and come in for a stomper landing.

One thing that helps: make sure you land back foot first. The other thing, of course, is kite control.

FL (central east coast) vs SoCal

I grew up in east coast central FL, but I didn't kite so I didn't pay too much attention to the winds. I'm living in NorCal (SF Bay) now, and I consider the wind pretty good here. In the future though, I may face a move to either SoCal, or back to east coast central FL. In terms of wind, which is th...

Your kite will roll up twice as small. I have so much empty room in my bag now it is silly.

Re: How do you wear a waist harness?

I keep it tight enough that when it travels up it restricts my breathing and I head back to the beach to pull it back down. You don't have to go in to the beach to pull it down. Just stop riding for a minute, park your kite overhead and float on your back. Let go of the bar with both hands (kite wi...
