Re: Ben Wilson kites

These kites are VERY ordinary. The pulleys give them a mechanical feel, with quite a lot of lag following bar input. They have a tendency to backstall when riding down the line. Finally, the construction isn't that good. You get what you pay for.

Re: Australian Kiteboarder Mag close to going under

Ben is no longer involved after doing a great a job to get it back on track. So what does that say about Billy Boy Crang? A roundabout way of saying it fell off the track while he was editor. At least Billy Crang had basic clues about being an editor. Wilson's lack of education (high school dropout...

Australian Kiteboarder Mag close to going under

This mag is close to folding http://kbmag.com.au/ Falling sales and advertising revenue are hitting the bottom line. The internet and kiteboarding forums are making it hard for paper-based mags. The mag attempted to reinvent itself 18 months ago by bringing back Bilsby Wilson, but the effort failed....

Re: Ben Wilson leaves Slingshot

This has been a few years coming. Slingshot's "youth policy" looks a bit lame with old guys like Bilsby, particularly if they are a bit plump. There are hundreds - nay - thousands of groms who rip waves way better than Wilson. Slingshot will be signing a few hotties soon (less than 23 y - thx). Cou...

Re: New Ben Wilson Wave DVD free to watch - Big waves good music

OK, it's about time someone called these people out. That video is shite and features very amateur-level riding. The riding around the 12 Apostles sucked. Why anyone would want to kite there is beyond me. The waves suck and the rock formations stuff up the wind. I think Bilby actually realises the v...

Re: Shannon Best and Gorge Access Issue

In Australia, we've got a term used to describe people like Shannon Best: "Bogan". Other adjectives can be used to supplement the term. In Shannon's case, "Stupid Fat Bogan". In general, a bogan is someone who is self-centred, uneducated, disrespectful, and lacking in manners. Their lives are genera...

Re: 3 kite quiver for husband and wife? Which?

...am wondering if the 2 of us can bet by with 3 kites... I am 175#, wife is 125#. A It depends how long you've been married for. In 7 years time you'll probably both need 20m kites to get you going. http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://static.thefrisky.com/images/uploads/obese_couple_0...
