Re: Learning to foil- strapped or strapless

If you value safety more over may be a bit more time to learn, you should should use as little straps as possible..... The so called "mushroom" or "flip-flop" gimmick has helped me a lot during my first attempts. I had enough grip on the board, could let got of it in a millisecond and therefore neve...

Chicken loop, depowerstraps and kiteleash good bye!

Well, the North clicker bar and OR stick shift have at least one good thing in common: no need for a frontline depower and as a side-effect one front-line can directly function as a kiteleash. But you can do that also with a standard bar. Here is what I did to my Cabrinha bar: 1) Getting rid of the ...

Re: Anyone replace their Ride Engine rope slider yet?

sorry, probably some dumb questions:
what gives you less abrasion? a thicker or smaller rope?
5 mm as proposed by ride engine?
what would be the disadvantage of a bigger rope eg 3/8" (9mm)? if the bigger the less abraison....
may I have to drill a bigger hole in the carbon spreaderbar...

Re: Safety boardleash attachement for hydrofoil

But like Davesails said - get your board as the very first thing when you crash in light wind - you dont need to sit on the board as this dont work well on really small boards, but having your arm rest on the board makes you way less tired as you dont have to swim to keep yourself floating, and you...

Re: Safety boardleash attachement for hydrofoil

Safety boardleash attachement for hydrofoil

Yesterday I had another " near death experience": I was out foiling when the wind suddenly droped and I had to self-rescue myself back to shore. I always have 2 m kiteline on my harness to secure the board in those situations. I attached the line to my foilboard at the standard board leash attachmen...

Re: Will spleene ever make the zone board again?

So I've been falling in love more and more with my older model 6' Zone. It seems to be the board I keep grabbing, unless it's just SUPER light. The thing rocks in chop, junk waves and landing bad jumps  It just doesn't have the super low end I sometimes need. I keep checking out the new Zone w...
