Re: Kitefoil Manufacturing - Alpinefoil Factory

Looks nice, maybe except for handling pre-preg without gloves.

Carbon copies from China :o

Re: Hydro - Foil Prices

A twin tip is cheap RTM and requires very little lay-up work. You could make cheaper hydrofoils using RTM and get similar results as with pre-preg, but so far non of the companies are investing in it due to low numbers. TT's are not RTM (resin transfer molding) but compression molding (same tech as...

Re: Hydro - Foil Prices

So you are comparing dirt cheap mass produce RIM parts to autoclaved pre-preg carbon fiber parts. It is like comparing space crafts to paper planes. A twin tip is cheap RTM and requires very little lay-up work. You could make cheaper hydrofoils using RTM and get similar results as with pre-preg, but...

Re: line length for Hfoiling in >15 knots

Wouldn't say there are any rules, depends on: kite, kiter, foil, and conditions. Somewhere around 20 m is a good place to start and then add/subtract when you feel like playing around with the setup.

Re: line length for Hfoiling in >15 knots

Storm Voyager 9 and 12 sqm is great with 20 m. 17 m on the 9 is ok as well. Foil kites I use 17 m for 8-11-15 (sometimes 20 on the 15), same on the 18. Much easier to control the kite on shorter lines. Started out long coming from the race board but it just does not make sense if you know how to pop...

Re: Enata?

ML is not available and you are lucky to get one never sure if you get the most current. It is not commercially available if you cannot buy a production unit. Look at how many different versions are allowed in by IKA for ML. With Enata foils there is a wait but at least you get something that is a s...

Re: Copper Aluminum paste as tef gel alternative ?

Get the one with PTFE. If they recommend grease with lithium they must have gotten bad advice from someone as it is normally not recommended for marine use or for mixed material assemblies.

Re: Enata?

It is the normal IKA joke. The rules are clearly not working. Both ML and Enata are unavailable and must be considered prototypes.

Re: Levitaz 2017

Hi Adri, From the pictures I've seen of the people riding Leviaz in China, they all use "big" stabs instead of the Bionic stab. Fuselage length seens also shorter than the Bionic. Can you explain the reason for this? Is it a standard Aspect stab or a different design? Thanks, Ben Exactly what is up...

Re: Copper Aluminum paste as tef gel alternative ?

You should not use lithium grease in marine application. Get either a plain grease for marine use or one with high PTFE content which is basically what Tef Gel is.
