Re: Sad loss today

What can happen witha bouy? Line tangle into deathloop pulling you underwater? no deathloop needed, just pulling. It doesn't even take much wind or current either, 10 knots of wind or 0.5 knots of current will easily drown you if you get stuck on a buoy: buoy.jpg I had this happen to me once after ...

Re: Cuba 2023

Back after a good week. 4/6 days on a twin tip. Winds were good for foilers the entire stay. There are sandbars in front of the southerly resorts. Lots of depth on the outside along the entire stretch for foiling. Lots of guys on full length masts. I did note the absence of any “kite marshals” or an...

Re: Switch Element v Nano

Finally Switch are offering free shipping. Too bad they dont have enough stock to fulfil a quiver. I recently tried to scoop up a poncho and a kite bag that were on clearance and was told it would cost $200 to ship to the US for a $90 order. Now they offer free shipping on anything over $50us and t...

Re: Cape Town Basic Rules

- Don't jump when there are other riders close downwind, no matter how good the kicker is. - The rider with his RIGHT hand in front on the bar has right of way. In other words, the kiter coming into shore at Kitebeach has right of way. - With the exception of the first 50 meters from the shore. Thi...

Cuba 2023

Can anyone report on the current beach and water conditions in Cayo Guillermo? Thinking of heading there for a cheap kite vacay in February.
I've heard bits about seaweed being an issue. Looking at the Iberostar.

Cheers, Bob

Re: Switch Element v Nano

If anyone is still interested. I decided on the Element 10m and 12m. Added it to the cart. Went to pay. But, the shipping to Australia is $320US. This is a real shame that the prohibiting factor of their affordable kites is freight costs. I realise shipping is somewhat out of their control. I wonde...
