Yeah the Toro2 manual is bollocks. No information at all on one of the quick releases. Not what I would expect for an expensive and dangerous piece of equipment. Shame really, because the kites are (IMHO) excellent - it's just the documentation which sucks...

This is one of the worst kitemares I've read. I've sailed Camber many times and I consider it a safe beach with plenty of space. I guess the combination of a jammed shackle and a few unexpected gusts is going to kick your ass no matter where you ride. Im off to test my Witchard right now...

How about Los Canos de Meca? it's a quiet and beautiful spot 30 Km North of Tarifa. It gets less wind than Tarifa - you'll need a 12/14M kite. There are loads of quiet beaches in the area and plenty of cheap flight options into the region at Jerez, Gibraltar and Malaga. The local wine is rather good...

Deltef, I did a similar exercise a few years back regarding windsurf sail size and rig settings as part of my computing degree. I went for the full monty - electronic scales and a real time wind feed. As soon as I passed the course, I chucked it in the bin - nothing beats the human brain!
