Alien WAve

It is important to realize what you want the board to do! If you want it mainly for Waves, I would definately recomend the 5'2" Kitewave (I use personally) But if your more after light wind performance at 220 lbs, I would go for the 146 Alien for sure. I had a 145 last year and it's pure grunt is un...

Wave nats

These photo's really don't do the waves at Kawana any justice, there were actually a couple of decent sets if you were patient. Well done Aaron, Straped and hooked shows it's doninece in trying conditions. Also a big well done to Marine who won the womens both at the Wave Nats and at Tannum on hte w...

Shockwave stopper ball

I have had a couple of people comment on the grey stopper unit sliding up. I have found if you make sure that you done the screws up all the way it doesn't slide, even better is to do one up at a time, and check in the hole of the second one that the screw has parted the silver line, making it so wh...

Depower rating

We should introduce a rating performed in a wind tunnel to acheive a steady base for measurement. This rating would show the amount of pressure is produced by a kite in a certain amount of wind whilst in it's maximum depower mode, you could average this over a 10 second period. For example, 20/20, c...

replacing lines

A few years back when I was kiting every day, I would replace my lines every 3 months, I have only ever had 2 line break instances, both were extremely scary! These things seem to happen when you really don't want them to. Now because I only get out about once a week at best, I keep my lines for the...

Trends in Kiteboarding, whats next?

I wonder what the next trend in Kiteboarding is going to be. It started as No depower and massive boards with way too many fins, then went to no depower and wakeboard with bindings and un hooking, then to moderate depower kites and a mix of directionals and medium sized twin tip and hooked back in i...

100% depower

There is no such thing as 100% depower in Kiteboarding! On a wind day the kite packed up in it's bag can move you about, therefore producing power! SO how is an inflated kite going to depower 100%. A 100% Depowered kite should stay landed with no line tension at all, you would be able to walk toward...

shockwave

PKA, I was never trying to claim ownership of your photos. The kite I was flying was a proto type, and may be different from the actual production. Had you approched me and informaed me that you were planing to post the pics, I would of asked you not to, or include in you post the fact that it was a...

SHOCKWAVE

It would have been nice if PKA asked if he could post my pics on the forum! Anyway! The shockwave is a very different kite to the XB, SB ............. As has been pointed out already in this thread, the canopy plan is very different as is the bridle. All the other SLE kites out there conform to brun...
