Re: Kite choices for foiling in high winds ?

I have a feeling that majority of freeride kitefoilers should have a go with small kites; they're nimble, fun, and more importantly less canopy makes it safer in strong gusts and in wave crashes, too. North Neo 4 was the biggest kite I have used in 34 sessions during the last two months with hydrofo...

Re: Taiwan: Kite spot for solo traveler?

Yes, it's better not to kite alone in Taidong with overhead surf and shorebreaks. You may be the only kiteboarder but there usually are a few other windsurfers on the water when it's windy. The kite beaches are not within walking distance (several kilometers) from WaGaLiGong, but Mark can help you f...

Re: Taiwan: Kite spot for solo traveler?

Taidong is probably the best place in Taiwan for wave riding and my favorite place for kite trips (40 minutes flight) from Taipei City. Mark is a cool guy and a very good windsurfer who runs WaGaLiGong. Water at Taidong is a few degrees warmer than the north. Here are some photos from my day trip in...

Re: Penghu's kitesurfing season has just started

Jan and Karen run a kite/windsurf friendly Sunrise B&B just 3 minutes from one of the windiest beach in Asia. Take you smallest kites/sails there and have a blast. Great seafood, too.

Re: Drone for filming Kiting?

DJI seems to be the drone leader and most likely continue to be my brand of choice for drones despite crashing twice already. I lost my first P3s because onshore 30+ gusts blew it into the trees. The second P3s was whipped by my friend's kite. His 6m2 kite canopy became two 3m2 canopies and my drone...

As a kook I like to play with cameras on the beach. In that video https://www.facebook.com/jasontsai999/vid...

Re: Kiteboarding Asia (Mid October)

In northern Taiwan we don't really have a beginning or end of season because wind blows from various directions 12 months a year, so we kite every week year round. I have some videos and photos posted on my facebook page in case if anyone is interested in knowing more about Taiwan. https://www.faceb...

Re: Kiteboarding Asia (Mid October)

October is not shitty in Taiwan. :nono:

I found myself using 4m and 5m kites most often in October, it's actually one of the best months with wind almost every day. :thumb:
