Re: Alliance - feedback from owners

DrM... so how different would you say the feel between the alliance 12 and torch 12 is? I have ridden the 07 torch, maybe not entirely the same kite it would probably have much of the same feel so I would get some idea of the comparison. A. I haven't tried the Alliance 12m - only the 10m. The Allia...

Re: Alliance - feedback from owners

Still strange, as one of the things I like most about my Sigmas is that they are totally forgiving when I end up under the kite and that's where other kites won't look between the fingers. I am thinking about adding either a Torch or an Alliance on top of my Sigma-quiver. DrM, as you obviously have...

Re: Starting off on surfboard.

I just started the strapless thing on a 6' Cape Dr - some of the best I advice I got when I started was don't try on a kite too small; as tempting as that may be. Reason being when you first start strapless you want to be able to park your kite without having to fly it to generate lift. Tautologies ...

Re: Alliance - feedback from owners

How is SA for kiting? I would LOVE to go..I've seen some nice wave pics...but it is a little far right now... SA is epic for kiteboarding. Cape Town is amazing for waves (esp in our winter months June). Not too many flatwater spots (although you can find them if you travel). I've only just started ...

Well I didn't get any new information for you guys but my dealer totally sorted me out with some Torches.

Perhaps I'm too Old School for the Alliance!

Re: Alliance - feedback from owners

Did you get to try the kites before riding them? It sounds to me that, considering that you like the torches and the Boxer SLE you would fall pretty hard for the Cult, but I guess I'm not helping here ;-) btw, in regards to the bladder issue...I've heard the same, it is nonsense though, having owne...

Re: Alliance - feedback from owners

Definitely no jelly fish, wobbling, flexing or folding here; solid as a rock! Sounds like your demo 8m was horribly under-inflated. As with all modern kites, they need a bit of pressure to fly at their best. I've also been told that my issue was directly related to me over-flying the kite whilst fa...

Re: Alliance - feedback from owners

The kite likes to fly forward and if a gust comes, the kite will fly over your head and when the gust dies off your kite will hindinburg. All you have to due is keep it flying at all times at a 45 degree angle. NEVER just stand there with the kite at the 12oclock position. Exactly - if I was doing ...
