my first ever foil regatta

Hi! I've recently written a little article on how I entered my very first foil race - I later realised it was actually a full on regatta over 3 days! My main aim was just to get round and see how a course was, but I'd encourage anyone to give it a try - it was loads of fun and I really enjoyed it! I...

Re: Woo fixes the terminal corrosion problem in a surprising way

I have a woo3...is the case meant to be waterproof? Mine definitely isn't, and now the contacts are corroding... I thought it was watertight so I left it overnight in my board ready for the next day's session....and now I'm struggling to charge it. Any suggestions? Is it just a dodgy case? I don't h...

Re: Hydrofoil Videos

Here's a video of Jonny Smith (jugglajon) enjoying some strong winds on Isla Holbox. He stole my kite and appears that he fell in love with it.

Re: Upwind Rotations

ha ha, i'm trying to get my tacks and and turning too much into the wind - i just end up over rotating and nearly making a 360! the (admittedly few) tacks i made found i needed to get my weight forward in both feet much earlier than i thought, and then dive the kite hard to change direction. i have ...

Re: Kite foiling and sargassum?

Hi, i wouldn't write it off totally - maybe you have to visit another spot/figure out which wind directions work best for you. I'm based in Holbox, and it's been a great season for foiling. When i hit seaweed its either: i fall off, if i'm prepared and see it, then i drop off the foil, or i sail str...

Re: Northern Greece Spot Recommendation [beginners]

Hi! I'd recommend Limnos/Lemos. There are 2 kite schools, the largest is Surf club keros who have acommodation about 1 mile from the beach. They have a restaurant at the spot and nice facilities, glamping, tents etc. They do rentals and lessons with Cabrinha gear. I'd take a car if you can as it's a...

Re: 12 year old - learning to kite - Best spot March /April

Come see us in Isla Holbox, Mexico! The season runs til the end of May, and March/April is good - more easterly winds, which mean we go to the next beach along. The next beach is deep after 60m, and has small chop. The local spot is shallow and great for learning. If you really want shallow water an...

Re: Is Playa del carmen still kiteable

i second foiling at holbox, it's great conditions here. i'm working here for the windy season and i learnt to foil here in June 2016. i now have my own foil and i'm trying to learn to jibe... Admittedly last week at full moon/low tide you had to bodydrag further out to foil, but at some point you ne...
