Self-launching and self-landing Slingshot RPM

Hello, Some time ago, I studied how to do self landing with Slingshot RPM - I got help from two particular videos (www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6Kv and www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1hk and I can almost understand why/how to do it. By my experience the steps are: 1. Make sure there are no obstacles downwind ...

Re: continuing to expose IKO as a fraud

I am not for or against IKO, just saying that by my mind you have not accurately described the essence of the problem. You gave some broad and hazy explanation about a disagreement with their instructor. For now your posts just seem as lament, nothing more. After all you made the decision to pay the...

Re: Slingshot rpm tuning

I have used RPM-s for 3 years and havent had these problems. Adjust the front lines to the knots according to the wind - usually to the middle knot.
I havent played around with wakestyle/freestyle setting though - try that one - it probably only affects turning.

Poole kite surfer accident: Man blown into Shore Road beach

I was not sure whether to put this to the safety topic or not, anyway - does anyone have more information on what exactly went wrong http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-22153377 ?
Hope he gets well.

Re: is unhooked safer than hooked in?

You have 3 topics in the question, all mixed: 1. Riding un-hooked 2. Depower/safety when un-hooked 3. Kite launching safety Questions 1 and 2 can be handled together. Safety depends whether you ride in suicide or (100% - depending on kite) depower mode. You can un-hook from both modes. Look into the...

Re: How strong is too strong?

There is no such thing as too strong wind, only a too big kite.

Re: Board fow newbie friend

I would still go for a board that is like 140, maybe + <= 4 cm. Wait and see what others think. There is no point of buying a really big board, because it is only for maybe two or three sessions. Considering the fact that your friend has allready experience on snow then i dont think riding the size ...
