there are no disadvantages - it doesn't effect anything except the stability of the kite in overpowered situations. It just distributes the load more toward the shoulders of the kite when overpowered - it has no effect on low end, or anything else So are all new kites comming from the factory going...

Any kite has the potential to tumble if the lines go slack. Its not a problem as long as you don't have a 5th line. The kite still flies the same with the front lines twisted. What you need to stay away from are flat kites with long bridles. If the bridles reach the trailing edge, there is a potent...

SS Glide in a NSI golf bag

Does anyone know if a Glide can fit into a NSI golf bag? I am thinking about gettng a glide for light wind days, but I am concerned that I may not be able to take it on trips in my NSI bag. The NSI bag says it will take boards up to 147cm and the Glide is 149cm.

This vest from Nevin looks like a possibility for both protection and CGA.

Anyone have any first hand experience with it?

I for one am very sorry to hear that WW is having troubles. I have been a big fan of theirs over the last year. I have found their kites to be great, and their customer service to be superior. I hope they find a way to get back into the inflatable kite business.

How to carry safety devices? (camel back, hip pack, ...)

I kite in the SF bay area and am interested in carrying a few safety items such as VHF radio, flares, whistle, ... I know the best safety is being aware of environment and conditions, but I would like to be prepared just in case. The options I can think of are camel back, hip pack, build in pockets ...

RRD TYPE 7 vs. Bow Kites (Safety/Depower)

Has anyone out there ridden both the TYPE 7 rigged with the wave bar/5thline setup, and any bows? It seems like both bow manufactures and RRD advertise "complete" de-power when the bar is pushed out/released. I really like the feel and jumping abilities of a C kite, and I really like the de-power ca...

Light Wind Board For big guy

I kite in the SF bay area. I weigh 190lbs and currently ride a FLX 132. My largest kite currently is a 15m. I am thinking about getting a large board for those lighter days (13-18mph). I was thinking about the Underground Magic Carpet 158x43 carbon and was looking for any advise on this board and/or...
