Re: Pocket board width

many boards are still designed like old no foiling or hybrid boards, even if they have no fin option  . Konvex decks, narrow flat noses, long tails, normal rails and many other details are IMHO remains from the old world and have nothing to do with well shaped real foil boards. hi Horst . . ....

Re: Board Build #2

awesome write-up and build Matt :D my 118cm has about 6cm nose lift . . . wish it had a bit more but most accidental touch downs are fine, just the drops from near full height are generally not recoverable. I started a build with a lot more rocker but found that once I had the air gybes, I could not...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

I've ordered a Chinese Takuma - rode the real one on sat and had a blast. It's nearly identical as far as I can see. This will cost me $440 versus $1400 USD plus shipping. This is how the Takuma went last weekend in lightish wind. I'm on a 9, buddy is on a 5 on my zeeko. https://vimeo.com/232342993...

Re: toeside 180 tack . . . anyone got advice

this is a move I hope to conquer before end of summer wind season, but have been unable to get my head around it, seems so foreign, "where do the lines go?" I rigged up my 2m trainer kite last week and walked through it on land. So weird! I crashed the kite several times before figuring out the rot...

Re: toeside 180 tack . . . anyone got advice

You need decent speed. I generally accelerate a little in prep so I have good speed and am feathering the power with the bar out a bit. Drift the kite high as you begin to point further upwind. As it approaches zenith and before you lose speed, carve upwind with the express intent on going right th...

toeside 180 tack . . . anyone got advice

the toeside 180 tack looks a cool move when done by a few of the free ride masters . . . does anyone who can do it or is trying it have any advice for someone who is building up to giving it a go . . . something more than just give it a go?

Cheers guys

When it comes to deck shape what do people prefer, Concave , flat or domed ?
I really don't like a domed deck for foiling. Flat, thin and around 110 cm.

Can I ask why Starsky?

Had all 3 types of decks. Don't like domed deck for foiling

Can I ask why . . . I have never used a domed deck but was looking at the EXO Levitaz which is domed.

Re: Spleene Zone 5,6 from 2017

The original Zone (my 5'7) is a lot flexier than the new 5'6. The flex is VERY noticeable on the original after riding the new one. The flex is nice on the knees but after riding the new Zone for a year or two, I wouldn't go back to it as my GO-TO board. Not sure about the 5'2 but I can picture the...
