Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

If you compare the white and green (anhedral wing) and the white and blue (flat wing) we also change the height of the vertical fin (4.0cm for the flat wing of the white and blue wing, and 2.5cm for the white and green one). The target is to have the same yaw effect Hi Nicolas, Is this a typo? Did ...

Re: How to build a bar? Just the rod/pole item ~60cm. Anyone done it?

I just wet sanded it with 400g. Bar ends are hard plastic. It's an epoxy used in a 3D printer called a Form2. It's an SLA printer and I used what Formlabs calls "tough" which had relatively low stiffness but high elongation. Means it is behaving like Polypropylene. I dont think ends will be under m...

Re: How to build a bar? Just the rod/pole item ~60cm. Anyone done it?

I put one together using 25*21 carbon tube with 21*19 CF tube inserts and 3D printed bar ends. 200 g so far. Looking like it will cost me about 150€ for complete bar and lines. I've ordered kitelines and leaders from premium ropes and will use a non-c-loop release my friend made. No central depower...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

That's the main knock on spitfire, have to be going fairly fast to get up, . . . I am not sure I agree with that statement. The XLW wings do not need much forward speed to get up . . . though more than one of those Takuma wings. I think the original comment was for the normal spitfire. The XLW set ...

Also supposedly a carbon version of spitfire is coming...

I think it is still the alloy fuse and same G10 wings . . . just a fuse designed to mount the spitfire setup to their normal carbon mast. Maybe I am wrong about the fuse being aluminium but the wings are supposedly the same.

Re: On the foil but unable to go upwind!?

So everything seemed ok. But i wasnt staying upwind. Every tack back to the beach would see me further downwind. I felt like i was going upwind, The kite felt like it was powered enough, I was going fast enough but no. Walk shame it was. sounds like a bad dream :) Strong currents would be the only ...

Re: Spitfire club

Is anyone else using 2 inline straps and are they finding as they get more time on the Spitfire that moving straps back seems more and more comfortable? Or is it just me? I started strapless and then went to single inline front then went to two front angled straps. I have yet to put on the back str...

Re: Spitfire club

Had a great session with the XLW wings.

The sharp turning allows you to more easily keep line tension when turning in dodgy wind and the more used to the balance you get, the more amazing this canard setup performs :)
