Re: Cabrinha Contra vs. Core XR5 15 m

I have flown most of the big light wind kites on the market...…..they all suck, big , slow, and boring. Sorry but there is no magic kite IMO. A few years ago they got me excited, now I would rather wait for the wind to hit 13/14 mph and I can start having fun on my 12m flite. That being said, the be...

Re: Gear advice for 6’2” 210lb guy

All this hate for SBs....Their great kites with lots of power and a good fit for big folks IMO. Yes they have a little more bar pressure than some other kites, but have gotten much better and not an issue for a 6'2, 210lbs , guy. And they have great range.

Re: Prodigy??

I received my 9.5 and 7m Prodigy yesterday and got a decent sesh today on the 9.5 for about a half hour before the wind came down and I needed to switch to the 12m Flite. Initial impression was all positive, faster than expected, lots of grunt on take off, super stable in the gust, med bar pressure....

Re: Question from a Noobie

I have a Switch Helium 2 , 15.5m for sale(MINT CONDITION). Great light wind kite at half the cost as others. Comes complete with brand new Cabrinha trim-lite bar, works perfect with this kite. Perfect kite to have for those light winds out there. I can do a little cheaper if we eliminate ebay(fees) ...

Re: Transitioning from a TT to a Surfboard! What do I need to know?

Great points, esp about moving forward for going upwind. Unlike tt, you wanna embrace the ability to shift stance for better trIm, different speeds, kite power, etc. TT is pretty much full time, bar in, powering your edge. Your less loaded, more upright and often just feathering the bar on surfboar...

Re: Kite Release Training

I used this simulator when learning and now I am using it with my son. Great way to build muscle memory. All you need is two bungees and three screwdrivers great, feels just like sheeting in and out.

Re: Oceanus kite reels: i still see them

Board leash? no thanks. Besides the fact the board can take your head off, I don't want to deal with another line that I can get tangled in...Plus I can't remember the last time I got separated from my board. I do love a good game of lawn darts after a few cocktails though..    ...

Re: dynamic differences with seat and waist harness

I used a seat harness for 10 years kiting. A old mystic with fixed hook then a dynamic slider then a homemade rope slider. I did notice that my hips and lower spinal vertebrae were locked. This resulted in several herniated disks further up my back while bending over with the harness on. My observa...

Re: Directional thoughts

All I can say is I just bought a Mako Duke surfboard and love it. Incredibly smooth board, rips up wind and is a blast in our messy, short period waves.
