Re: Help with choosing a first kite

Yes. I always tell people to learn on a bow kite. HUGE range, easiest relaunch, safest kites. (You can get away with one kite quiver to start) Then as you start to develop your riding style if you want to gravitate toward a C-kite or SLE/hybrid, go for it. Get a good wide board to learn also. I didn...

Re: Most Flat Wwater Kite Spot in Hawaii?

Hawaiian islands are deep and totally exposed. To get true flat water you need long shallow areas like the Caribbean. Or places with a jetty or protecting gulf/river. Ultra flat water doesn't exist in Hawaii except maybe the protected waters of Pear Harbor. But good luck kiting there, dodging gun fi...

Re: Whats the best 2008 board......

Boards are designed to conform to riding styles. Just like the snowboarding. Tell us what you do most on the water and what conditions you ride in most often. Only then can we make suggestions.

Re: Damn, what a f*cking nice movie...

I still would like to see what a kiteboarding movie would look like with a Redbull sponsor and Taylor Steele type budget/ cinema quality. Like a sipping Jetstreams for kiting. Lotta heli-shots and ability to chase conditions for a few months of filming. The money isn't there yet for the sport but so...

If that poster wasn't from Macon Georgia I wouldn't have believed it. Oh, 1985 called, they want their denim wardrobe back.

Re: Cab Switchblade 08

You might have sand in the pulley on the bridle. Check them all every time you rig up. 6m SB is a fast kite because its so small and responsive. Extra caution should be taken when flying in gusty windy conditions.

Re: Surf and Kitespot(wakestyle) wanted! Where to go in sept/okt

Your fantasy doesn't exist. Better narrow the options and try again.

Your best bet might be Hatteras NC. If you want Surf and flat water. Those don't exist together. There must be a reef/lagoon, or in the case of Hatteras, a LONG jetty that divides the body of water.
