Re: Moses 2018

Tried the new huge 873 wing - not good for kite foiling, great for foil surfing. Too much lift on front like the Lift 200 wing. Had high hopes for this one, but was disappointing for kiting. Tested the 683 wing for a while - not good for kite foiling. Maybe ok for foil surfing. Not a well balanced ...

Re: LF Galaxy Board 2019

I have the 2018 board and it needs the plate but I think it's a good idea anyway. As Peter says, I like a protective layer between plate and board. It has never been an issue. I would not let it influence board choice in any way. For that size board, the Galaxy is a great board.

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Hi Stef, I understand and appreciate your perspective. I love riding in the surf but am a bit of a hack out there. Comfortable but still lots to learn and lots of room for improvement. My motivation to get the CA Wave was to make my foil riding experience better. My 3 strut wave kites worked fine bu...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Hi Tom, my range on a sweet potato 5'2 (63kg, board is 32 liters) is around 22-23 knots (maybe slightly less) to ... I don't know, around 35-40 I think. I never switched to the 3m, although I usually live in a very windy place (South of France, exactly where the mistral comes in). Tony, the 4.5 is ...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Tom, My references wrt the CA Wave are on the the foil, the ranges I mentioned are foil ranges. I may end up using them on the Vader but my reason to purchase the foil kites was for the foil. My weight is just under 80kg and I'm riding the Levitaz foils, mainly on the Cruizer. Will post when I get t...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Tom, I decided to get the 4.5 after feedback from Benoit and digging a little more. Benoit says I can ride the 4.5 in 18-20knots (9-10m/s). The upper end is listed at 38knots. He says there is a lot of depower on these kites, much more than an LEI. I suspect that rider weight/skill and foil selectio...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

For those with the 8.5/4.5 quiver, is there enough overlap? If I was comparing lei's, a 4m gap in those sizes would be huge and too much for me personally. Is the range of the individual kites larger? I've seen discussion of people going with 3/6.5 or 4.5/8.5 but again that seems like a big gap to m...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Hi I have a CA Wave 6,5 and a Reo V3 10. I would say the Wave is comparable to a Reo 9 (closer to 8 than to 10) I hope this helps Thanks Sombra, That helps and kind of confirms what I'm thinking. I'm not having much luck getting this kite out in the right winds. Saturday was blowing pretty hard, av...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Any thoughts on how the CA Waves compare (wind range) to LEI kites? Would the 8.5/4.5 compare to LEI 10m/7m, other? That helps me understand ranges a bit more and takes rider weight and wing size out of the equation. I also like a nice overlap, my current LEI kites are 7/9/12 which is perfect for me...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Thanks Stef, Deflate open velcro on middle of trailing edge and pull out sock. Then open white velcro on sock. Roll up the kite and it easily deflates in this state. Prior to flying the kite make sure that the white velcro on the sock is closed and the sock is inserted into the trailing edge opening...
