Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

The new heavy dual straps are nice improvement.

I tried one on at Surf Expo.

Re: 5'4 FW Vanguard

It has not been replaced. They make 3 models in kite construction. Vanguard, Vader, Evo.

Vanguard become less popular when Vader was released. I think Vader is most popular. I ride Vader.

Re: Switch Element5 vs Cabrinha Drifter

I've flown the 13m 2016 drifter and 13m element 5 a lot. I rate the element better on the 3 things you asked about. It's a more normal kite, meaning less performance compromised for wave riding.

I only ever use a front hook. They should sell them as singles.

Re: Gong strutless v2

I have the V1 Gong strutless. All the sizes have about 1m better low end. So 12m is like 13m. 9m like 10m low end. They stay in the air in way less wind that wave kite of same size. They feel like a feather in your hands. After awhile, going back to any strutted kite feels heavy and hard work at the...

Re: another learning to gybe post!

Strapless wins if you have the skill to water start strapless

Otherwise a foot hook on the front is all you need.

No way I'd use both feet in straps.

Re: Underestimating popularity of mid size masts for free ride foils?

Agree. 45cm worthless. 65cm should be the training length, then you keep it for shallow waters.

Re: Wave kite foiling - preferred mast length

These super thick SUP wings are more forgiving of breaches, so the short mast isn't as much of an issue as you might think.

Mine feels like it auto resets after a breach. No crashes.
