Re: Naish XL surf wing

I don’t like the XL kiting. L is better. XL too stiff turning. I could feel no advantage, only negative over L for foiling. Leave the XL for other sports, windsurfing, SUP etc.

Re: strutless

My experience....gong strutless, no batten model. Great for awhile, then grew tired of some of the fickle and very difficult relaunch positions with wet canopy stuck to water and water trapped by leading edge.

Today I Foil one strut kites. Much happier. Not only better relaunch, but more wind range.

Re: Ride Engine Size

The harness got smaller fitting in 2018. They moved the point where the straps are sewn to it farther behind. And that tends to make spreader ride up MORE when harness is sized small. Longer straps between sewn point and spreader attachment, creates more swing up and down of spreader bar. So I’m usi...

Re: Ride Engine Size

I prefer mine sized big. I used to wear a smaller size. The ears dug in under my ribs. I went larger on the harness and now it can’t dig in under my rib. Ears wrap nicely around my ribs, nicely padded.

I even switched to a mystic slider on it. Now it’s the ultimate Cush harness.

Re: Cloud9 foil feedback

I own both Cloud IX wings. I kite and SUP foil with them. I used to ride another brand. The guys who work at Real, ride Cloud IX, not the other brands they sell. This bit of info is what got me to try Cloud IX Yeah, they are pricey, but worth it, so they get those prices. High points... They are sil...

Re: Tuttle vs Deep tuttle

That’s a deep Tuttle Taut. But, that’s a windsurf deep Tuttle. GoFoil won’t fit without cutting head top at angle. GoFoil is 2.25 deep at “each end”.

Bolt hole alignment is slightly different too.

But you can make it fit no problem.

Re: too light to drift downwind?

The cloud 9 P27 wing has that issue. It floats high and dry, even with heavy aluminum mast on it.

Re: Best place to learn to foil on East Coast

Drive up to Merritt Island. Foil Kelly Park. Chest deep for miles. Many foilers ride there. No weeds. Better than OBX for learning and you can sleep at home. Short drive.

Re: Looking for my first foil board (surf+kite foiling)

You can have all in one board. You have to understand that you can paddle into waves with really small boards. Too many people are buying boards way too big for prone foiling. For example Look here. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm92svFnPnx/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=7kpewompcnu8 Surfer is 6’3 ...
