Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

Both one struts were wonderful for foiling. Much preferred over no strut, but those two one struts were very different in how they behaved as the wind increased. Can you elaborate on the behavior and also mention which brands they were? I absolutely agree this is important. Ok, I’ll give you the lo...

Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

I have flown 2 of the brands on your list, and I used to own no strut. Both one struts were wonderful for foiling. Much preferred over no strut, but those two one struts were very different in how they behaved as the wind increased. I think how they behave throughout their wind range is the more imp...

Re: RE vs C1

Only advice I can give, if you decide RE engine fits you best, go for 2018, not 2017. 2018 harness works better with dakine slider bar. I think dakine slider is easier to keep rope tight than RE.

Re: Ridges and grooves vs flat decks

I rode with an arch bar. It seemed nice at first, but eventually became a nuisance. I removed it. It was uncomfortable on long reaches. It got in the way at other times. On my foil SUP, I tried bumps to mark front foot location. It became a nuisance too. It’s just better to have total freedom for yo...

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

Why do we need to know who the kite designers is? We don’t, and we don’t know who he is on many smaller brands. Companies use contract designers because he is not needed on the payroll 365 days a year for just a few models. Heck, some of the big brands over design and make a kite worse one year to t...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

This press release in May 2016 is about when I recall Kai Lenny’s GoFoil logos were hidden on his downwind foiling runs. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ejbEAtkyefc Shortly afterwords, GoFoil in the US, was pushed by Starboard reps and Starboard dealers seemed to be the only guys who had the foil. At ...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

Here is an example of Naish lying about what foil Lenny was riding: It feels like Naish is getting beaten up and GoFoil is god lately. I offer an alternative view of history, without any first hand knowledge. Kai was instrumental in making GoFoil famous by showing what was possible. Working with Ag...

Re: G10 wing replacement for fragile carbon

What? A SUP set up on your foil board sounds like a mistake, now I am confused. I have seen the SUP wings, they are Massive, so very thick and Blunt edges, but you like the way it sails. Tell us why? Is it something that we should try? Why do you like it so much? I am wondering if I am missing out ...

@Dwight: thanks for the responses. Why did you sell the gong foil if I may ask?
I tried a SUP foil and fell in love. I’m kiting with the Naish SUP foil.
