Re: One Board - Kite and Surf Foiling

Hi Dwight, Can you sent me info about your board? Looks awesome. For kite foiling I'm mainly on a Nobile Skim Foil board and my main board for paddle surfing is a 5'3" Tomo Vader. The Vader is pretty much a one board quiver for me. I paddle surf the Vader in everything from knee high to overhead su...

Re: One Board - Kite and Surf Foiling

You can have both in one board unless for some reason you don’t like kite foiling with 35 liters. Most kite race foil boards are about 35 liters. I ride a 35 liter board that was designed for both. BTW, you’ll out perform any off the shelf converted surfboard, with a surf foil board designed for foi...

Re: Vacuum pressure for sucking water out of a surfboard?

You need 2 holes in the board to suck water out with a vacuum pump. One hole to let air enter. You can apply full vacuum. It will suck the water out pretty quick. You’ll hear air roaring in thru the extra hole and water flying out the other.

Be careful not to suck water into your pump.

Re: Which bar for women?

It’s not just reaching the depower that is an issue, it’s being able to let the bar travel full depower stroke. You should be considering harness issues more than bar issue. How many women do we see everyday with harness hook between their boobs with kite overhead. They can’t even begin to allow kit...

Re: Sealing alu strut - still a no-no?

Look to windsurf booms for the answer. They’ve been filling them with foam for longer than some of you have been alive. 😝 They don’t try to seal the boom bodies tight, they just fill the cavity with extruded polystyrene. It is the spongey white foam that is water proof. Many foils come packed in exp...

Re: Anyone riding the KS1 Naish foil?

Taut, I have both surf wings and the kite wing. The medium surf wing is pretty fast for a surf wing. The kite wing, I expected more from. I’ve ridden kite wings that lift about the same, but we’re much faster. My kite wing makes noise. Both my surf wings are silent at any speed, which is amazing, be...

Re: Anyone riding the KS1 Naish foil?

Yes, I have the KS foil. I don’t ride it much. I ride the surf wings more. I wish the KS wing was faster than it is, to differentiate it more from the surf wings.

Re: Best Waist Harness for Overpowered Riding?

The new ride engine harness with 4 straps stays down better. I tighten the lower straps more than the upper straps.

Re: Anyone riding the KS1 Naish foil?

It’s a test I’ve been planning to do, but never got around to it because I can guess what would happen. It would be slightly more stable than using surf stab. They put anhedral in surf stab to counter extreme stability of big front wing.
