Watched a kiter ride a 12M FS Soul recently in 10 kts of wind on a TT. He weighed 86 kilos.
Very impressive for a heavier rider in such light wind on a TT.
Are you sure about the wind?
I have a speed3 12m and I'm 60kg and need at least 12kn to plane on a directional.

Energy Drinks What They Can Do?

Some people getting cancer and some people brain hemorrhage. Why? "The doctors concluded (after running his tox screen and ruling out drugs that this horrible event was due to his recent excessive energy drink consumption a habit he had built when he started working longer hours and commuting)." :na...

First experience with my diy canard wings. I copied the spitfire shape out of g10 but scaled up 20% on rear wing and 10% front wing.
Great. :thumb:
Would be nice if you could post a picture of it.

Re: Wow!!! e-Foil , ultimate low wind.. How does it work?

http://www.waterwolf.de they have the type of water thruster we're after !! 55 lbs weight and 15 Kn /maximum speed for less than half an hour is boring and $10K is expensive. I don't think you could really minimize the weight and 5 kW power expenses of an HF with our "Techno-Logic", especial...

Re: Wow!!! e-Foil , ultimate low wind.. How does it work?

Like DrLightWind said ; most of the power, is getting started, (and your still on a board of some type) till the hydrofoil gets going and most the drag goes away. Otherwise Yea ; the .5 to 1K in watts is believable once your up and going. Variable pitch, would be the Shit !! Bille Yes indeed. :) Bu...

Re: Wow!!! e-Foil , ultimate low wind.. How does it work?

I would rather go with a drone for simplicity and free of all the weight. Besides that people think 500 watts are enough, but they're living in an illusion, when you need at least 2000 - 4000 watts to get on to the plane according the guy below. 2 years ago I've seen a guy's motorized foil wi...

Re: Foolkookio & Ridiculous Light Wind Claims

As a foil on foil rider, my minimums are 7-8kts with a Sonic FR 18M Foil kite and that requires all my light wind skills to manage. Finally a non ridiculous claim.....thank you very much for that...i have gained some respect for you  :thumb: To me 6 knot is the magic number, but I agree 7 - 8...

>100 HP - Boot to pull. No. The videos show it working behind a dinghy with a moderate size outboard -probably 25hp. The boat makes a wake, therefore planing. One person is aboard the boat. Therefore it is likely using 6-7hp to do this as is normal How much extra horsepower is the boat using to pul...
