Re: Corrosion on Aluminium parts (Moses fuselage)

been riding Moses for over a year now. The white spots on the fuse you see after riding are usually grease spots that are originating from the screw connections. Clean with some soap and green scrubby pad and they will be gone. However as Rolf said, after a lot of riding you might get some corrosion...

Re: Seaweed (sargasso) 2018 a bad year

I am in the VIrgin Islands at the moment, the sargasso is definitely here and starting to fill some of the Windward facing bays but it’s not a big deal yet. I was out on the foil and it was fine away from the shore, just need to go around some of the bigger patches. The foil seems to go thru the sma...

Re: Foiling. What next?

Into my 3rd year of foiling now. One thing that has made a huge difference is getting on a 110 mast. Basically I don’t have those painful high speed crashes anymore because the wing almost never ventilates. I rode a short mast again for a while on the weekend, is was pretty brutal, my ribs still hur...

Moses Comet

So I have the Moses Comet 2017 and looking to upgrade. Does anyone have experience with using the new 2018 race wings and fuse with the 2017 Comet mast? The 2017 mast is plenty stiff so I want to keep using it. Is the 2018 mast a redesign or just a new construction with a hardcore on the inside?

Re: Delta Hydrofoil's George Hradil talks foil design and the future of the sport

James, i am a big fan of open class and i realize that most of the cost of competing at a high level is not gear related. I competed in the 96 games so i know. The intention of the post was to say that if we did want to create an additional foiling class where the focus was on keeping the gear costs...

Re: Delta Hydrofoil's George Hradil talks foil design and the future of the sport

Great talk by George. And nice to see NP come out with a quality offering although I am not convinced that this is better than what you can already buy off the shelf now for similar or less money. But if we are worried about the cost of gear for Olympic racing then box rule has got to be the way to ...

Re: More wings, the hard way?

Hi Tahoedirk, Pretty cool way to do a mold, I might try out your method next time around. Lately I have been into surf foils, first one (red wing) was hand shaped plywood front wing, wood core fuse with all the other parts coming out of molds. Came out pretty well but the wing is on the small side a...

Re: Wing sizes for kite/surf/SUP

Good job figuring this mystery out. I built a wing 22 x 64 and similar in outline to the Kai and the area came in at 1070cm squared, so I had been confused by the Go Foil size numbers, makes sense now

Re: Advice on foil kite

Foiling in the 7 to 12 knot range is my favourite condition. You need a 13 or 15 race kite, Sonic 2 or R1V2 (used is fine). An 11m with 20m lines can also be made to work for freeriding in lightwind but is more difficult. A bigger front wing does not really help as the dragginess cancels the benefit...
