Re: 2018 LF Thruster Foil

interesting to note, there hasnt been any mention in this thread about the designer of these wings. Matt wheeler (wheeler wings) is very well known in the gorge area apparently. these wings are designed to catch waves and carve hard without cavitating. seen some very impressive maneuvers on these de...

Re: -ing gear for the lightest of the winds

with my old 10m speed 4 lotus and my XLP wing on the alpine foil i was able to ride in 7-10kt days.....lulls to less than 5kts and gusts to 10kts. kite sits at zenith beautifully in almost no wind. if it hits the water its incredibly easy to relaunch in 5-7kts. prob at 12m would be the money size fo...

Re: Question for Alpiners

keep the front wing at 0 deg, not sure its really advisable to mess with that one....

i've used 1.1 deg and 0.7 for rear.....1.1 required too much front foot pressure.....0.7 was great for learning transitions as you tend to stay up on the foil better...

i'm back to 0/0 now.....better speed

Re: What hydrofoil board to buy?

To quote coleman: "...then got a racey foil and progressed much more quickly..." vs. "my alpinefoil with xlp wing" , which is a contradiction. you misunderstood what i said. i said my other friend had the cabrinha double agent and he struggled. he improved slowly and did not like the foil. then he ...

Re: What hydrofoil board to buy?

well, ill say this.....it took me literally 1.5 hours to learn to foil on my alpinefoil with xlp wing. yes its fairly fast, and yes full mast. lots of wipeouts but in an hour and a half i was foiling across our lake. both directions. even managed to get back downwind. so id say it was beginner frien...

Re: What hydrofoil board to buy?

aftergetting fairly good on my alpine foil i had a go on my buddys foil fish, it was definitely not easy. i'd say those designs being beginner friendly is a myth. only thing friendly about it was the price. the cabrinha looks to be the same . had another friend on one of those and he progressed slow...
