Did you coat the entire canopy ?

Does it add a lot of weight to the kite ?

You should do some strength tests , to see if it actually is as strong as original.

had to repair a major leading edge blowout , cause when the kite torpedoe'd , and hit the reef.

didn't turn out too bad, and kite flies just as the way it did before the repair.

They need to make the zipper pull out of plastic. Slingshot bags have plastic pull.

Have to concur with the general consensus here, that the method you're using doesn't look safe.
I would use something like this if I was looking for a solution to the problem you are experiencing.

I have a 2017 slingshot compstick bar , and I was checking my gear yesterday and found a lot of corrosion around the quick release and the clam cleat.
