Re: The New 2018 Airush Core Foil Series Out Now

Would be interested to see a proper analysis of this, but torsion results in shear forces around a central point, doesn’t it? And for shear forces, more material away from the centre will result in lower stress and therefore lower strain. Compare the torsional displacement of a solid rod compared to...

Re: Hung Vu, a kitesurfing pioneer, how did he help you?

I think he had a diary about learning, and he described how he started sailing in a closed bay but was unable to escape it. Then one day the wind was stronger (for his 2-line kite) and he was able to go upwind more - and then for the first time he could sail beyond the bay. An epiphany. My own exper...

24-7 is wonderful. They've been around for ever and have a long term view.

North LTD foil board construction

I pinged North for details of the core of the green 2015 Ltd foil board (whether EPS or fused polystyrene) but they haven't responded :(

Does anyone here know the answer? I want to know If there is a danger of water being adsorbed if the board has a minor rail crack,

Re: How much does your HF and board Combo weigh?

I have an older Horue H13. The board is 2.2 Kg and the foil is about 1.5 Kg. I love the light weight - but the foil whistles at speed, whereas my Zeeko Makaira never did , though it was solid carbon and at least twice as heavy.

Re: Moses Silente front wings - a guide

Hi I'd be really interested in trying the FR450 - either by renting :) or buying second-hand. I'm not really interested in buying new since I'm just scratching an itch to see how different it feels to the FR425. If you have an FR450 that you've outgrown, any condition, please ping me at jwgcarlyle@g...

Re: Spotz 2 foil photographs

Beautiful photos.

Ignore the concern about copying. Anyone who was so interested in copying and building similar carbon structures commercially would already have taken the trouble to see them at first hand.

Hi I see no-one has replied...well I can only talk about the Foretrex 201, which I have owned for a couple of years. It has about 90% of what I need but it is very compact compared with other GPS and that counts for a lot. Its biggest weakness is the display, which needs more resolution when you are...
