Joao,

Thanks for the advice, do you mean that the wind will be light east on Wednesday, so go to Villamoura, then after that try the other places?

Anybody Kitesurfing on teh Algarve this week

Staying in Albufara until Saturday, looking at going either to IIha de Faro or Alvor, these appear to be the best spots, anybody around?

Cheers

Thanks Jo, Thats was the tip I was looking for, if you wrap the 5th line around the bar when you get to the stopper & then wrap the rest of the lines up you should be able to get to the kite without it powering up. Anybody tried this technique on the water, can you actually get all the way to the ki...

What I mean is, say you break a front line, you want to get to the kite to self recover. You release the kite to the leash, you start working your way to the kite, once you get past the stopper ball on the 5th line the tension comes off the bar/remaining lines. These lines prevent the kite from taki...

Yes I suppose if the wind disn't strong enough for the kite to fly then it is not likely to lift of the water upside down once you pass the stopper ball. Do you think you should wrap the lines up as you go up the 5th line or just work your way up the 5th line & leave teh lines trailing? What happens...

Yes I find that I just seem to plough through the water, with gallons of water in my face, up & down getting no closer to the board. I am only 5'6"& 70kg dunno if that has anything to do with it.

Got some good tips following this post so I'll try them all out.

Cheers

Yes thinking about it I guess thats right, you will be drifting at the same speed, I suppose you will get an increase airspeed over the kite due to the relative velocity with the current, but that should just give you a bit more power. People do seem to loose a lot of boards though, always when the ...

Problem is where we kite we have some strong currents, which is great for staying upwind but sometimes at certain states of tide even with the best body dragging technique you really struggle to get back to your board - several boards a year are lost roound here. Don't really want to go back to usin...
