Re: Diani Beach, Kenya. Dec - Feb kite size and shared office space

Spent a week at Diani in February a couple of years ago. At 75kg most days I used a 10m and don’t remember being overpowered. Snorkelled every morning, one morning safari at Shimba hills and kiting in the afternoon and a (windless) day at Tsavo east to see lots of red elephants. Stayed at Kenyaways ...

Re: European Alps snow kite sites

Wind and weather conditions on the Simplon Pass Located at 2000 meters, the Simplon pass forms the connection between the Valais and Italy. At this meteorological divide between north and south, pressure differences occur frequently resulting in good wind conditions. Northerly foehn usually means go...

Re: European Alps snow kite sites

The Bernina Pass is a typical north-south connection. Ideal wind conditions for snowkiting are north, northeast. The northern foehn provides for a bright blue sky while the southern foehn ensures a lot of snow. Whatever the conditions, the pass road is open all winter, which means that kiters can ea...

European Alps snow kite sites

I'm hoping to drive to the Alps this winter taking kites and skis and following the snow for a week in early March looking for flattish fields, lakes, or plateaus and cols. It would be great to start a sites guide thread listing location, access, best wind direction and strengths, hazards, skill lev...

Re: My first LW session with the Flysurfer Speed 5 dlx+ 12

Spreading the Foil love:- I was on a 2006 Pscho 3 last weekend on flat water in 30-35 gusting 45 knots. I was amazed what fun it was to ride. Predictable, lightish bar pressure, not too fast or slow and stable as well. Not bad for a 10 year old kite in pretty wild conditions.

Re: Ski bindings

Thanks for all the info. At the moment I ski with Movement Jams with alpine bindings (z12s) and Icelantic Shamans with Alpine Trekkers and skins for short hikes. Both cambered and short radius maybe not the best with a kite? Living in the UK means flying to the snow. So ideally I'm looking for a one...

Ski bindings

What do you look for in a ski binding for kite skiing? Do you need a hiking binding like a Baron or Guardian? I'm assuming a wider ski is better, except on ice, so the binding needs to be strong. Are tech bindings man enough for the pressures of skiing with a kite? Do you use a touring boot? I'd lik...

Re: Recommend a first directional

Thanks for the ideas, sadly the budget doesn't run to a new board. I missed a Kitefish on fleabay last week. Any thoughts on the Slayer V1 vs V2, is it worth the extra for a beginner?

Recommend a first directional

The time has come to have a go at riding a directional board for the first time. I've been kiting for 10+ years and would describe myself as a weekend kiter. I'm about 76 kg (167lbs) I have an option on an Airush Slayer 60 v1 at a great price, a Slayer v2 58 about £150 more or a v2 54 a bit more aga...

Re: Folding tips on Flysurfer Speed4 10 - Urgent!

Hi Lars
Contact Flysurfer direct. I had the same problem with 10m S4 and am waiting for a replacement kite to arrive.
