Re: Letting Go of Kite to Save Your Life

Interestingly, he seemed to describe the start of his troubles as losing control of the kite. Maybe he was hit by a gust but, to me, it looked like he first lost control of the board. In conditions where I have become worried about being totally blown out and need to get back to the beach, my first...

Re: Prediction for current at dutch spots (good website or specific rules?)

About 95% of kitesurfers is mixing these terms up in my experience... that was intentional, as the tidal currents along the coast of Holland where he kites are the strongest at high and low tide. With a period of no current at the moment the tide is rising the fastest. Very easy to remember, facing...

Re: Prediction for current at dutch spots (good website or specific rules?)

Already good sources above. But good to know the Dutch coastal current is 100% driven by the tides and that the high tide going south to North is twice as strong as the low tide going north to south along the coast from Hoek van Holland to Den Helder. Currents around the islands of Zeeland and Wadd...

Re: How loose footstaps should be on a TT?

Super loose. Locked in feels way nicer until you have to bail. Then bailing and losing one foot was catastrophic. I have seen at least 3 injuries to ankle's, knees, legs happening and heard about a couple more all due to loosing one foot and having the other locked in. Rotating momentum, lever arm ...

Re: 3.5m Wipika kite

A friend of mine is gathering early day kites for his kite museum. I am sure he would be interested to include this one in his collection. Should you consider tossing it away please let me know he (or I ) would be willing to pay shipping (to the Netherlands).

Re: DIY pigtails

How does your figure 8 slip - did you try adding simple or double overhand knots? That should stop slippage. E3CE15B9-6359-417D-99B4-41393801CB80.jpeg I wanna have multiple knot options so adding another one to hold it isn't an option. An alternative for multiple knot options is this: You can adjus...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Did someone ever try to put a couple of balloons in the LE as float.? I am convinced peak won't stop easily but if it does it would be nice if it stays afloat. Or even relaunch?

Re: Kiteboarding apps for Garmin watches

Hi Aleks, How nice you share the result of your efforts. I am considering to buy a Fenix for kitesurfing, running and cycling. A couple of questions: - Is it possible to plan a certain route (crossing to an island or so) and see on screen your sidetrack error (the distance left or right from your id...
