Re: Flysurfer Soul

The Soul is the best kite Flysurfer has ever designed for free riding. I have been kiting for 18 years. I have flown and owned every kite Flysurfer has produced and most Ozone kites. Call the FS Soul a beginner kite if you like, but as an experienced kiter, I would recommend the FS Soul to every ki...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Well a 15m soul just won a speed comp Over in the Uk against R1s,edge, furtive etc So it ain’t that slow.. Slow moving through the window. How to make it faster? Use the short lines. Yeah, right. We know what that means, do we? If you consider bar pressure to be too high on the Soul, it's presumabl...

Re: Extreme Kitesurf Accidents

You are not lucky with using 18m kite.

You are lucky that you *physically* can. I can't. No 50-60kg rider can in this wind ;) You know the rest...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

I didn't really like it, but can't fault it since below is very personal feeling. Here is why: - quite high bar pressure - quite slow, well not quite, sloooow. 12m, 15-17kn - doesn't pivot (like I would expect from a Sonic and R1 background)* - feels like a truck pulling me - upwind on TT is average...

Re: Best way to add bolt threads in the board for the mast when building board?

This is difficult question simply because you can't see what's going on inside. A tiny imperfection in unsealed wood and you got yourself a potential problem. To be fair, for your first build this is way to complicated. Yes, it is a steep learning curve, but worth only if you'll continue building ma...

Re: Best way to add bolt threads in the board for the mast when building board?

Shipping anywhere up to 15 inserts is AU$8 if not mistaking.
No source, they are like a hens teeth for small batches.

Re: Best way to add bolt threads in the board for the mast when building board?

Thinking of making a pocket board, but what's the best way to attach the mast in to board when I don't want to have through the board bolts & nuts but have the mast bolts threaded to the board, please? Thanks very much! :thumb: I just drilled holes into core and epoxied inserts in place, then sever...

Re: Where to start?

A few more beginner questions: Could I use eps or xps foarm instead of plywood with the same process? (even creating the rocker by gluing 2 sheets?) If I find foam blocks of 1m , can I glue them together to achive more length, e.g. 1.5 meter? If I want to glass 2-3 layers, do I have to wait for the...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

Ah well, I have found issues after taking it for a ride... The fuselage cracked on 4 places in mast slot. Yep. The mast cracked near the brass insert. Not happy....I do know how to fix a fuse, but the mast is a bit more complicated. Anyways, today I’ve seen a MikesLab prototype. Unbelievable piece o...
