Re: proper etiquette

*there is no way this isn't going to sound weird... mince away. All of the above. This is uncharted social territory, and there are probably plenty legal issues (here in usa) that can make it easier to say no. If someone is geared up and can demonstrate competence (ideally has been at the location a...

Re: Naish Park/Dash - like kite but not Naish?

I also come from riding the park range and am curious about similar feeling kites. (RPM, Dice +?) I also had an octopus connection go bad on my least used 2012 kite. After taking it apart and putting it back together far too many times (finally got good at that), I still couldn't get the seal to hol...

Re: Great video from Zian rider Zac Andrews

Loving the full range and some of the crashes along the way. Especially digging the front roll to darkslides (Maybe there's another name for that) at 0:39. and 2:18

Re: What's the worst thing about kite surfing?

Getting skunked. the only thing worse than getting skunked at home is traveling to beautiful exotic locations and getting skunked there add to that getting 'wet skunked' - where you give it a go despite knowing it's not enough and you only get one or two tacks in before having to pack it in, of cou...

Re: below the bar trim

Go downwind to take some tension off. If you're so overpowered that you can't hold an edge, sit down and put the kite to the water at the edge of the window. If you still can't pull the trim then yeah, problems. My issue with above the bar trim is that I can't easily reach it, or it's gotten wrapped...

Re: Video: Grabs every kiteboarder needs to know: Part One

Nice video with some good tips - practice the grab on land to figure out how and where. Some grabs will add some rotation as you reach and twist your shoulders. I'd like the video more if it didn't just show the same clip a bunch of times of a much more complicated grab, but rather showed what he's ...

Re: Wetsuit itches

I had an issue with my suit when it was new (hyperflex)- probably something in the lining that caused an itch after awhile on the areas that get some pressure/movement. It felt fine everywhere else though. Try a 1mil top, or a rashguard. The itchyness did get through the thin layer of a rash guard, ...

Re: Extreme itch due to wetsuit? Fresh water? red dry blotches..

I'm happy to say that whatever was on the surface layer of the hyperflex wetsuit interior has mostly settled out, though I still occasionally get some mild irritation when my harness is loose and causing some rubbing. I picked up a 1mil neoprene top, and that really helped - it's a much better barri...

Re: Who Has Right of Way?

Maybe not a rule, but general etiquette- downwind opposing tack shouldn't gybe/tack just before or immediately after upwind rider passes. This makes it so the upwind rider can't jump.

Re: Durable board recommendation?

I have the f-one foilboard (bamboo) and have busted or cracked the nose 3 times now. Apparently I must be hitting it with my calf or shin as I go over the front from cavitating at speed. If it breaks again I'm either lopping off the nose or going ghetto with a home carbon layup. If I can get a kfbox...
