Re: Duotone Click Bar Official Unofficial Thread

Same here on an older clickbar, looking for a solution to stop the plastic from binding after rotations. Have used clickbar few years now and have one issue with it - middle squared plastic line that runs through the bar is not slippery. When powering and depowering, movement is not as smooth as on ...

Re: Slowest 6 or 7m kite for freeride?

Have you tried them with the back lines further to the middle? Dont you have this adjustment? I find my 7m kite too fast and adjust the back line setting for "less speed/more bar pressure" with a minimal effect on pressure. A smaller bar is another answer to this problem. The difference in 5cm is q...

Slowest 6 or 7m kite for freeride?

Most people want a fast kite, which is good in larger sizes. What about the opposite? High winds tend to punish my ingrained bar habits when sizing down from mostly flying 10m to 8m pivots. I'm considering a 6-7 for high wind days, but want to slow it down a little. What are your thoughts on 6-7m ki...

Re: Why do Wetsuit Makers Hate Hands & Feet?

Try 'xcel anti glove' for dexterity. Super thin and help keep the wind the chill off, but not much more than that. Lots of steps up from there (and a step the other direction is to use dishgloves, which work surprisingly well for $5).

Re: Itching under the wetsuit & harness

There is another long thread about this with some good ideas and products to try. https://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2386729&start=50 I get the same issue mostly with new wetsuits, and found the best solution for me was a 1-2mil top under the suit. Rash guard is a little too thin. Also washin...

Re: Not wanted rotations on lofty jumps

Once you're facing upwind you might as well spin like a cat and make it a full rotation. Crash landing on your back is disorienting. Whatever awkward shift my body takes during the pop, I found that if I take my front or back hand off and do a board grab it helps keep me in the right orientation to ...

Re: How do you seasoned riders think about when to refresh kites?

I agree your most used kite will wear out faster (um. yeah). Add to that, the most abused kite wears out faster (the one i crash most often, roll up with sand etc) When to upgrade depends on a lot of factors. What kind of extremes are you getting into - places where gear failure has consequences. So...

I've noticed more people wearing rugby scrum helmets. Looks a little goofy, but probably solves the problem with the ear covering.

Re: Fill valve on Naish Ride loosing air

I was given a tip years ago that helped extend the life of those valves. Instead of inserting the small pointy pump head into the the valve (stretching it), use the larger pump head (used on the boston valves) to go around the outside of the whole thing. Otherwise, hot water and zip tie, or stick on...

Re: How many kites...

Less makes it easier to decide, and less ambivlance on the water about heading in to switch up or down (though it's nice to have the option) ... or this the 9 that's like an 8, a 9 thats like a 9 and a 9 that's like a 10. repeat for all sizes.. Yup 12 and a caddy to lug and pump. And then there's th...
