Mixed Grip while cruising?

This is something odd that I do.... I have my right hand undergrip and my left hand undergrip? Is there any reason I should not do so? I am still a beginner but this is a weird comfortable position for me.

Re: Buying first traction kite

Just to clear things up, the distinction you're asking about isn't so much about 'water' versus 'land' kites so much as it is about depower kites versus fixed bridle kites. These days, almost all the kites meant for use on the water are depower kites flown on a 4-line depower bar. For use on land a...

Buying first traction kite

So I sold my 3.5m trainer kite and bought at 6m peter lynn hornet.
I am doing this to practice when I can and for fun.

I will mainly be kitesrufing when it comes to kites but I wanted to practice land jumps, etc.

So my question is. Can I use a water control bar on a land kite?

Re: Elitist segregation in kite surfing.

But to say if you are on a SB you have priority, well that is bullshit. I ride a mutant but sometimes I take out my SB strapless to change things up and most definelty when the waves are really good. But I have more fun in general on my mako, so that's what I choose to ride. If you ride a mutant do...

Re: Any Galveston Kiteboarders?

Hi, I have kited at the Texas City dike several times. Bring what gear you have and hope for the best. Wind in that area isn't always reliable, so bring everything you have. Also, there is a good shop there. They could probably hook you up with rentals if need be. The Texas City dike is a very good...

Any Galveston Kiteboarders?

I am currently in Tyler, TX for school. I was thinking about going back to houston for this weekend. I have an 11m ozone edge to use and the forecast looks like it will be 14-16 on average steady. I was always told that the edge flies like a 12-13m of a normal kite due to the power it generates. I a...

Re: Support your local shop . . . ?

It's the 5' one . . . the description makes me 90% sure it's the kiteboarding version. Tax? 10% sales tax, usually included in the price. Shipping? I was quoted $300 to send a surfboard from the US by courier . Customs? I paid $20 for the last big-dollar bought-from-a-shop item I imported. Market i...

Re: Cab Switchblade Quiver for a Larger Rider

The 14/11 is a good quiver to start with. New riders need more power to get going. Experienced riders ride faster and generate more apparent wind=more power. My guess you'll be able to ride this two kite quiver from 15 to the high 20s...so my advice would be to hold off on that third kite for now. ...
