Re: Woo vs Xensr

Thanks for the response. But doesn‘t that mean that the jump height feature of your Sessions app is broken by design? Or does it use inertial sensors instead of GPS? If yes, how do you differentiate arm / body movement from movements that are actually connected with the jump? I thought that this is...

From my understanding, the Xensr Apple Watch app works with the GPS of the watch.
Great post! You are spot on about GPS and why GPS doesn't work for jump heights. Which is why all of the kitesurfing sensors use inertial sensors to provide a jump height value.

I was thinking of buying a Woo but for around the same price, Id rather have an apple watch.
Best Buy has the Series 2 for $269, and they're bound to be even cheaper come Black Friday sales.

Re: Apple Watch Series 2...

Which is all great but I thought it was decided earlier that the waterproofing on Apple watches ain't good enough for kitesurfing? Series 1, the first Apple Watch to be released, was not waterproof enough for kitesurfing. Series 2 and 3 are very waterproof. I even know someone who scuba dives with ...

Re: Apple Watch Series 2...

If my phone has the right sensors I could put it in a waterproof bag and wear it around my neck. I look forward to the development of this. Thats exactly what we did at the 2014 Red Bull King Of The Air - we had our prototype XensrCase units - iPhone4S's with our sensor package in waterproof bags i...

Re: Apple Watch Series 2...

Great news! Looking forward to my next session. As for features, it would be nice if it was possible to see maximum and average speed while riding. Right now we show max speed. The watch screen is small, so we're not sure the best way to display all the information at once. You can't interact with ...

Re: Apple Watch Series 2...

No Xensr Needed: The app uses the watch's built in GPS, Gyro, Accel, & Pressure sensors. We had demo'd a direct connect between a Xensr and an Apple Watch on stage at Apple's WWDC event early this year. Almost as accurate: Accuracy is pretty close to an Air, but because it's mounted on your arm ins...

Re: Apple Watch Series 2...

SessionsAppKite.jpg We've added kiteboarding to the Sessions watch app. You can track your kite sessions with speed, GPS pathway, distance in session, max speed, JUMPS and AIRTIME . As soon as you land a jump, just glance at your watch and you'll see your last jump height, airtime and max speed of ...

Re: Apple Watch Series 2...

can't install it to the newest watch ios Which watch and OS version are you using? This should definitely install on Watch OS 4.0 and 4.1 which are the latest two releases from Apple. The app is only compatible with Series 2 and Series 3 watches, as they are the only ones with GPS and water resista...
