Re: Dear old Nobile 666 and 555

Kites have changed a lot before year 2010 and are definitely better compared to older ones. But how about the boards. What would have been changed?
Maybe they change a little every year, but is the new model always better than the old one? At least graphics of nobile boards are crap nowadays.

Re: kite low AR easy relaunch or race for hydrofoiling?

I have also 13m boost. It's a good kite for foiling, quite light and with good windringe - but strutless kites stay in the air much better.

Dynamic name tags to your kite gear

Do you know anyone who have lost their kiteboard? :) I have made a website as a hobby project to create dynamic name tags: https://dytag.com The main idea is: When you're traveling and there is your home address on your kiteboard. Would anyone bring the board back to you, to your home? If you can pu...

Re: Copper Aluminum paste as tef gel alternative ?

How about tar, would it work as well? https://www.maston.fi/en/front-page/pro ... -tar-400ml
It is used to prevent bolts to stuck.
I have used it in my foil threads, but only a couple of months, so I can't tell yet did it work well or not :)

Re: Which kite manufacturer's kites have the highest quality/are most durable

2012 LF envy and NRG were very durable. Thick materials. 2014 switch nitro4 has the same kind of thick fabrics. As a downside kites are quite heavy, but it doesn't matter in small sizes in my use. Can't say the same of my best kites (2011 8m nemesis and 2012 ts17) and 13m boost. They are lightweight...

Re: Flat water in Greece in July?

Yes, Prasonisi is very windy in July: https://www.windfinder.com/windstatistics/prasonisi BUT it's crowded.. Onshore-side is less crowded if you go 500 m from shore to upwind, but there are waves. Rescue service was 20€ a day three years ago. And it's not available all day from sunrise to sunset (if...

Re: Nano protection for kites?

I have this kind of stuff but I haven't tried to coat a kite: http://www.biltema.fi/fi/Veneily/Kemikaalit/Veneen-hoito/Kuomunkyllastysaine-2000019060/ The description says it is based on "Paraffin and wax dispersion" and sold to use it to coat boat canopies. Tried it to a piece of old t-shirt and it...

Re: Free kite plans on GitHub

Open sourcing kite plans is a great idea. If someone dismantles a new kite and publishes its measurements to the internet, is it piracy? :D
I bet kites would be very cheap if we could get kites from the factories without marketing, developing, sponsoring etc. costs.

Re: If you lose your board how is it marked with your contact info?

This old school dymo tape is quite durable and easy to remove: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embossing_tape But I have marked also some of my boards using a permanent marker. I don't sell my gear every year, especially boards won't wear out and old boards are as good as the new ones :) Email address...

Re: TwinTip Fin Size Selection

Nobile T5 came with 55 mm and 40 mm fins. I like the stable feeling of 55 mm fins, the board goes like on tracks. It's a little bit trickier to change from heel to toe side but I don't do it often.
