Re: 11m kite

It depends on where you live, the type of wind usually, what boards you're using and weight. Someone could ride an 11m Switchblade as their biggest kite with a race board while others go and pump up their 11m when the wind picks after using their 14m.

Re: What is the value of traing kites? I don't get it.

I remember the first time I tried flying a small trainer I crashed it several times. I'm glad I learned simple steering technique on a harmless trainer before hooking in to a large inflatable kite. I learned to understand the wind window and acquired knowledge of how to steer a kite. I practiced mov...

Re: Do it or don't ? Learn it by yourself...

O - kay, paid a pile to some doods in Tulum (Mexico) to teach my son. Put headphones on his head as if he ever heard a word they said Between the surf and the bad foreign accents. About the only thing they did right was put him on the correct size kite for the wind conditions that day. Which is a l...

Re: 90Kg Rider - What conditions will need a 6M kite?

You'd probably be fine with an 8m as already said. It doesn't hurt to have a 6m in your quiver though and some use their baby kites in the winter on the frozen lakes. If you're rarely going to use it, I wouldn't buy one brand new unless you find a sale or deal. Since small kites like that may not ge...

Lessons aren't just for yourself and your safety, it's also for the safety of other kiteboarders and the general public enjoying the beach or shoreline where you are practicing.

Re: Backroll hand drag transition?

I've been working on backroll transitions and don't loop the kite. The problem I find is that when I come around and land, I find that I have floated a bit too close to the kite. I then slightly sink back into the water and don't have enough power to ride away in the other direction. I therefore hav...
