Re: Double Agent vs Alien Air/H4 to start & progress with?

I've written both - not for a longer but have a good feel of both the foils. Overall both will do you well as far as learning the basics of foiling without too much hassle. The hard part is where you say: I cannot afford to buy a set up that I will grow out of in a season or two. That is so dependan...

Re: The stagnant foiler.

I'd definitely +1 for a larger or easier ride wing - doesn't have to be a surf wing, there are more crossover wings that are still relatively fast but make learning gybes and tacks way easier. And you don't have to ride it forever, use it for a few session, improve your muscle memory and then go bac...

Re: Redommendations for Kitesurfing specific forums/ communities/ sites?

Kiteforum is the main forum these days, other than that its smaller but more local forums for specific areas. In a similar way, you'll find that Facebook groups are now pretty popular for specific locations, clubs or kite disciplines.

Re: Where is good spot to learn wave kitesurfing?

I think Eduardo advise is spot on - learn the basics in flatter water and then venture into some small waves. Obviously, it all depends on how easily you pick up new kiting skills and also what surf experience you already have - if your a good surfer then that will speed things up in proper waves. I...

Re: What got you into Hydrofoiling?

For me it was a combination of intrigue, lighter wind kiting and that the cost of foils started to drop. Once I'd started I was blown away by how easier it was to fly upwind. Compared to any other craft I've tried to sail upwind a kite foil is just so much easier - it's not just how quick you can ge...

Re: Kite loop to waterstart

@slowboat, I completely agree. Looping to waterstart is not something you wanted to be doing when first learning to foil - if you do need to its too light and more of a survive technique to try and get you in with you are out to see.

Re: King of the Air 2018 - All Info

I don't think the regular/goofy side of things is an issue for any of these guys. I've never heard any of them ever mention it as something they are concerned about. For these guys, they can boost HUGE in both directions and have overcome any bias to one side or the other. To us mere mortals, yes, i...

Re: Recommendation on large tube kite for light Foiling

I tested the 12m Boxer and was really impressed. I used it twice in winds from 8-15 knots. It was really stable in the sky, turned pretty quick for a 12m with nice constant power and lots of depower when you sheet out. No issues with back stalling and recovered well in the real light stuff when it s...
