Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

ask a custom LEI to LEI manufacturer and pay the price for a custom. after all there are custom boards so why not try to ask some manufacturer if they can make a big LEI and put the $$$ /€€€€ for that. In my opinion, this is really above and beyond and I would have many questions... In my personal ...

Re: What causes a strut bladder to herniate?

As stated above, it happens when the strut isn't properly reinserted into the housing, allowing the bladder to expand outward into the open space, ie...your herniation. When reinstalling the bladder, tuck the head of the bladder back inside itself up to the point of the inflation valve. Once you hav...

Re: Do you need Aluula Kites?

Complete waste of time to fold it so precisely like that. I roll mine up so as NOT to create a spot where I fold it every time. I've been flying these kites since they came out in 2020 and have never had an issue like he shows. Some of the earliest production runs saw some isolated cases where the s...

Re: F-One spare parts

I think FOne is out of France, so you might inquire with them to see if they potentially have spare parts still around. I seem to recall most kite brands committed to keeping spare parts supported for at least 5 years for that model. You might get lucky if there are shared parts over multiple years ...

Re: Road To Recovery - 'I injured myseld' (Part 1) - Liam Whaley

About 30 years ago, I had a fall on inline skates. I regularly rode stairs and jumped on ramps with no problems. Somehow, I fell while just skating down a sidewalk. My feet came up in front of my face and I landed hard on my butt. I got up and continued on. The next day I woke up almost unable to wa...

Re: Oldest Kiteboarder in the world

Oldest I know about was Poul from Denmark...88 years old. Did a session, landed the kite, did few steps and fell over and was dead. Amazing death! Current oldest I personally know is Manfred Spuck from Germany, living in Cumbuco, Brazil, since many years. He is 85 I think. Will check. Wow, he got t...

Re: Oldest Kiteboarder in the world

I met a guy named Woody about 4 years ago as he was passing through. He was 85 and had only been kiting for 5 years! This past September I was in Hood River for AWSI and met some people that knew him. He's apparently still at it!
