Re: New Ozone Edge

I tested the 17M version of this kite, and it's very nice for cruising. Stable, and shoots upwind like crazy.

Re: Beach to be banned? Unbelievable story!

Here in California, it's the Snowy Plover. Same issues. Since 2001 or so. But I think the bird watcher folk here gave up to a degree, since I haven't heard or seen anything from them in a few years now.

Re: Highest Jumping Kite

Also, one of the Epic kites from 2010 or 2011 (can't remember exactly which one) was also a huge jumper, very close to the Blade. Both are Momi designs.

Re: Highest Jumping Kite

The 2010 Blade Trigger 10M is the highest jumping, longest floating kite I have ever owned in the proper wind. I've tested it side by side with other kites of the same size in the same winds, and very NOTICEABLE difference in height, and float. Not sure why the kite jumps so high, but it just does.....

Re: Any news on the 2014 Blade Fat Lady?

Thanks! Was hoping to try it out at TheKiteBoarder magazine's San Diego light wind back to back tests, but it wasn't there (but did get to test 14 or so light wind kites back to back). Sounds like they are likely still dialing things in on the Fat Lady, which means it's likely not the same design as...

Any news on the 2014 Blade Fat Lady?

I haven't been able to find much on this kite. Have there been any design changes from the 2013? And when will it be available?

Re: Trainer kite on a paddleboard

I rode a landboard nearly every day for years on the beach in San Diego. Perfect for learning on those light but steady wind days. You can still learn all you need when it comes to flying and being pulled with a kite. Low altitude jumps, rolls, carves, toeside riding, etc are possible. I recommend u...

Re: How I waxed my Chicken Loop line

Waxing the chicken loop line definitely works! I just use cool water surf wax and rub it all over the line until it looks covered enough. Also did it to my Dynabar Line. After over a year, barely any wear noticeable. Prior to that, the chicken loop line and Dynabar Line were wearing out quickly with...

Re: Board recommendations for light wind, overhead waves

@dyyylan, agreed and I do that already when glassy, but when it's 12-17, it's blown out...and I want to kite.

Doing it successfully on my twin...but there has to be a directional that would work nicely in that.
