Re: Strappless or Strapped for Learning to Foil ??

I started with a loose front foot strap. Changed to a single front hook and then progressed to strapless.

Tried a friends board with a rear strap once and felt like I almost broke my ankle.

I think water starting strapless is much easier on a low volume board.

Re: Surf Foils for Kiteboarding?

I'm riding the Cloud 9 S24 surf foil 100% of the time while kiting. I'm 165 lbs (75kg). I started on the Zeeko Black & White then moved to the Carver wing. I wanted something that turned better so I moved on to the Zeeko Spitfire with standard and XLW wings. I got the Cloud 9 to give surf foiling a...

Re: Marks on board - please tell me what is the cause of this

I would check what type of resin the board was made with. If you normally have boards with epoxy resin and this one is polyester resin that could be your issue. Polyester resin is much more brittle than epoxy.

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Appreciate the feedback! I ride with a single foot hook open forward on the mid to forward aspect of the board. It allows me to waterstart but can move my foot forward if needed. The back foot is free. I've been playing with different foot positions. When I move the front foot forward to anticipate...

Re: Why not more canards ?

Hi What's about the low-end in comparison of xlw to carver? Thanks again Carsten I would say it's about the same if not slightly better on the XLW because the XLW accelerates and builds apparent wind faster and you can pop it up harder on takeoff without fear of breaching I agree. XLW wings were a ...

Re: @Re: tswierkocki

I have a lot of hours on the Zeeko Black and White, Zeeko Black and White with Carver wing, Spitfire with standard wings, and Spitfire with XLW wings. I come from a surf background and mainly want to carve turns. My favorite of the bunch is the Spitfire with XLW wings. I feel like the the Spitfire ...

Re: How to crash advice

I like to push the board nose down and to the side. I then use my kite to pull me in the opposite direction. When hitting the water it is much less painless if you penetrate the water with one foot first. I basically lounge forward and use my front foot to break the water's surface tension. Somewher...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

A little help here please. I just did my first day on a brand spanking new zeeko spitfire. For background I'm 190lbs and can ride a directional strapless jibing both directions. I have experience on a borrowed SS HG over the last year able to foil both directions but no transitions. After research ...
