Re: Convertible surf board

The Zeeko Slash is worth a look. Especially at a 50% discount. http://zeeko-kites.com/gb/kite-boards/270-slash-5-2-surf-3760253111713.html I had one of the best downwinders of my life on this board. Foiled on it for about 2 hours until the thermal kicked in. Swapped the foil for some fins and then h...

Re: What got you into Hydrofoiling?

After 15 years kiteboarding on twin tips, surfboards, wakeskates, paipos... I borrowed my friend's foil. I spent an hour wrestling the foil and beating myself up just trying to water start. I managed some surface riding. I ended up a half mile upwind and had to walk downwind with my gear for the fir...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

I have a blue & white edition Zeeko foil. Looking to make a more serious attempt to get into foiling this year. I am wondering about the usefulness of a 60cm mast, both for learning & for using in shallower water. Is it still possible to get a blue & white compatible 60cm mast somewhere? Are there ...

I like a little concave or flat. I really dislike convex.

Re: Spitfire club

Hi Max, Welcome to the club! I also thought I would ride my Carver forever. Once I got decent enough to foil in waves I missed driving through turns with my rear foot (I have surfed all my life). The transition for me from the Carver to Spitfire was very easy. I'd recommend starting with the XLW win...

Re: Spitfire club

I have been on the Spitfire 100% since August. I spend most of my time on the XLW wings but pull the standard wings out in flat water or when I feel like riding powered. I'm mostly riding a 4.8m Cloud D. Funny you posted this since I pulled out my Zeeko Carver setup the other day for the first time ...

Re: Balance question - before I get my drill out....

I would also recommend just using the front foot hook. No need for the back hook when learning. When up and riding pay a lot of attention to where your back foot is. When I was learning I put masking tape on the rails of my board so that I had a quick visual reference for my rear foot location. Kind...

Re: What is your HF kite quiver?

Full BRM Cloud D quiver Zeeko Spitfire with standard and XLW wings Freeriding and waves 75 kg (165 lbs) I like to foil with the smallest kite possible and pretty much ride my 4.8m about 80% of the time. If I could only have one kite for foiling I would go with the 4.8m. For me these are the sweet sp...
