Re: Marginal wind kites ?

Not with all 12m vs 19m models and depends on rider's weight. Under 65 kg it is not so sure : I can start earlier with my 12m than anyone on a s3 19m or sonic or r1v1 for example. However i agree that even at 60kg , for the lighest end indeed 15m is a bit better but for very light and stable kites ...

Re: Marginal wind kites ?

It is useful to put numbers to illustrate but shall be considered as relative comparison and not absolute wind speed. IMO it is not transerable to each one of us when below 6... as there might be up to 3 knots difference with the same wind measured in different ways ... (Experienced between Officia...

Re: Marginal wind kites ?

Maybe i dont get the marginal wind idea. I can HF FRS 9 as soon as it STAYS on zenith. In less wind it still stays on zenith but it flyes back and fore lower in window. I was riding with beach wind meter reading 5-6 knots. Underpowered but flying HF. Only other guy who can ride was guy on 19m2 R1 V...

But hey I dont measure VMG, i measure fun :) I must admit that i didnt flown Hyperlink because I was concentrate to fly SOUL as everybody rave about it. FRS for me is much bette...

Re: Marginal wind kites ?

I know it is not race kite powerspike, so time will tell if it works for me or not... Maybe too little power, but low weight is key to keep it in the air to get out, and I also ride with bigger wings and board in marginal wind like you do tomtom. It will never be used in more than max 7 knots, so t...

Ive a friend with a FRS 12m, and my R1V2 11m on 15m lines starts earlier and has more power then the FRS 12m on 21m lines. The FRS its a easy kite, but it doesnt excel anywhere.
Doesn't it excel in ease of use?
Yes, its easy like i said.

Re: Hydrofoil skill progression steps

People will spend alot of time working on foiling jibes (foot switch) because its a need to be able to ride comfortably, but if you look back and realize how much time you spent to get those done, you will hardly find another trick that will take you that amount of time and atempts. So i think that ...

Re: Hydrofoil skill progression steps

I would put " foiling tacks " in advanced as they are way more difficult then any of the other things you mentioned. Proper Foiling race jibes are also not easy (meaning downwind jibes at speed), specially when done both ways. Rodeo can go to intermediate (but Rodeo and standing back on the board it...
