Re: Looking to purchase (or have made) an Airstyle handle

I made one very easily with a bar of aluminum about 3/4 inch wide and 3/16 inch thick. Bent it to the shape. Then drilled holes to line up with hole on board. Took a couple of trials to get the bending down. Used a vise. The wrapped with foam tape. Has held up well. Cost a couple of dollars.

Impact vest recommendations

Any recommendations for impact vests? I've gotten slammed a few times doing tricks. (double front rotations are my nemesis, too often misflying the kite mid rotation) and because I don't have as much strength as I once had because I'm older (75) , I am looking for extra flotation. Looking for vest t...

Re: Opinions wanted, is it better to self land in strong winds by punching out from 12 or 3/9??

I would say definitely pull quick release nearer water than at 12. I got caught in a squall of 30kts plus on my 14m one time. I first sat in water with board on, put kite tip on the water and tried to ride it out. I traveled about 300 yards this way. Wind never let up and I was then about 200 yards ...

Re: Should Toby start a crowdfunding to save KF?

Let's be fair. Toby shouldn't need to show us his financial information. He is just a nice guy (whom I've met a couple of times) who has figured a way to finance his passion with a business. He does not live a lavish lifestyle and has been a positive force for our sport. And just like now when I go ...

Re: kiting and Spanish immersion

San andres is a favorite tourist island for colombians. Also a fair number from argentinia. Not many from US and Europe. It has a great flat water spot and never crowded. One or two kiters at most. There is a kite school at the beach that does a good job. Small beach to launch and land but someone t...

Re: Video Clips Toby Braeuer Airstyle

Toby, , besides great tricks, the kiting spot looks consistently nearly perfect. Smooth water, perfect wind range. Is it Cumbuco? What months do you have those conditions? Does it get very crowded? Your tricks are all done going right and that little sandy point looks perfect for that. Is there an e...

Re: San Andres/Providencia or Cabo de la Vela

If you are looking for waves i wouldnt pick san andres. Great flat water though. Good wind usually in late june to end of july. Then december to march. The rest of the months would be very chancy. Pm me if you need more info. I dont have any first hand knowledge about cabo de vela.

Re: Video Clips Toby Braeuer Airstyle

Like the combinations with just a bounce in between. I've done a few backroll then front roll combinations with just a bounce landing in between but I was trying without the loop and its pretty difficult to have enough power to complete the second move. At what point are you looping the kite? What's...
