Re: Work / Kite Surf Balance - Which cities do offer that?

San Francisco CA. Beautiful, lots of diverse kiting spots, major area for work.

I've visited Melbourne and St. Kilda's beach. You have it good there -- unfortunately I missed out on wind but it's a fantastic place

Re: HyperFlex Wetsuit Experience

I also have an AMP 5/3 and I love it, best wetsuit I've had. Much better sealed and warmer than others, tradeoff being its a bit more work to take on/off due to the neck zipper. I'll chip in my two cents on Ladomi's q. I kite in SF where the water ranges from 50-60 degrees F and I have not kited bel...

Re: Mancora advice: fly into ecuador or lima/airline experie

I mentioned him earlier, but I highly recommend Ruben Palomino (inkapal@hotmail.com), a travel agent to help book travel in Peru. He's not kiting related, but he was great about booking all sorts of night buses and made sure people met you in distant cities to make sure you got places safely. It sou...

Re: Mancora advice: fly into ecuador or lima/airline experie

Another person to try is Ruben Palamino, he's a straight-up Cuzco based travel agent, but he was super helpful and help us find must cheaper flights to and from Tumbes/Piura and Cuzco when we went a few years ago. inkapal@hotmail.com If you are staying in Mancora, I highly recommend Las Olas, great ...

Re: Paracas & Mancora - quiver advice

Well, to be clear, 5.5m is a big spread between kite sizes, and depending on where you live, 10M may be your most used kite if you owned it! But I was thinking in terms of travel-- if you had to travel, 2 kites is better than 3, and your 2 kites would definitely cover your whole range. But you may b...

Re: Paracas & Mancora - quiver advice

I was in Mancora/Paracas two Decembers ago and was fine with a 12 and 8m OR Rise, I'm 90kg. That sounds like a 2 kite spread that will cover what you need. If you had a choice, I would consider going to Mancora first, then Paracas. I was in Mancora first week of Dec and people down there considered ...

Re: Best kitesurf spot during winter?

La Ventana Mexico is awesome. Lots of great places to stay (Baja Joe's for example) and lots of kiters to hang with. Dec throughout the winter is the windy season. If you want guarenteed nuking wind, you can consider Playa Copal, Bahia Salinas, Costa Rica. Bring small kites, it's outrageously windy ...

Re: Favorite hotels where you can kitesurf right on the beac

In my travels: #1: Vila Prea, Prea Brazil. The ultimate: phenomenal beautiful hotel, great food, strong wind kiting right outside the door. #2: Auberge Des Nomades Du Sahara, Dakhla, Western Sahara. Super strong wind, camping out in a desert lagoon, feel like you are at the edges of the world. Dakhl...

Re: Prea and/or Jeri

I agree with everything that people have said... However, I can't say enough good things about the Vila Prea hotel in Prea. It's amazingly charming (romantic thatched private bungalows), with incredible food, reasonable prices, awesome owner and staff, and kiting right outside your door. My wife and...
