Re: Race Foil Progress

Not too sure about Sword2 being faster, not enough feedback online as yet. We will find out this coming gold cup. I would say from what I have seen Spotz 2 is faster than Spotz1. There will be a few more newer companies and designs to watch out for this coming year as well. Competition between build...

Re: Reluctant to paint or clear coat my Foil

Yes sorry for my typo, I have fat fingers. I used 600g wet and dry paper with foam block then did it all again with 1200g wet and dry. Important not to polish it afterwards, leave it as matt finish - as discussed in previous post by revhead. I am racing my foils and noticed a difference when I paint...

Re: Reluctant to paint or clear coat my Foil

Painted is best - use good epoxy paint and sand back to smooth finish using 600 grade then 100 grade wet and dry. Always use a foam block as well.

Makes the ride so much smoother and gives you less chance of cavitation on wing. Parasitic drag is not your friend.

Re: Strapped or strapless ?

Straps better - two reasons I find 1 - When positioning foot onto board before power kite up and get going. Better to have a strap to hold board to your foot and can keep it in a good position. 2 - when running off the wind and reaching a rear strap helps to support the foil under your foot so you c...

Re: Carafino topics - summary

Probably time for Carafino to put its program to rest - so many very good foil brands now producing fantastic product and prices are coming down. Not to mention a lot of great second hand foils for sale. Hard to break into the Market now, it's really on a fast forward roll to become an explosive rac...

Carbon race fins - best recommendations and where to order?

I have been racing G10 fin styles and would like to know what guys have to say regarding going to Carbon. Is it best to just use forward carbon and keep rear G10 or go full carbon set up. Currently I only know of a couple of Carbon fin makers - how many is there and who are they - where do you order...

New Kitefoil Australia equipment looks awesome

I just received my new Kitefoil Australia, foil mast and MK1 wings - looks super strong, light weight and well built, what can you expect from a professional boat building company with so many years in custom carbon fiber fabrication and moulding, also using auto-clave equipment. Can't wait until I ...

Re: Airstyle tournaments

After kiting 12 years I am very much tired of doing and watching unhooked low level handle pass kiting. Sure its hard we all know that, but it is all very much the same thing over and over. Crash after crash. I race-board and foil currently and would love to see an Airstyle comp more often. When I s...
