Re: The WetSuit Game: Patagonia R4-R5

I have one of the R's, not sure if it is the 5 or 4. It's not labeled on the suit--just has 'R' written on the sleeve. It is a great suit! It has held up much better than my Hyperflex. The Hyperflex was very hard to get off and one of the dams around the neck area tore so that water leaks in. This r...

Re: 6m soul for foiling

jumptheshark, I'm not sure how it affects riding style, but the feeling at the bar is very different. I much prefer any of the foils I have to my tube kites. The bar pressure is even and solid, though fairly light. With the tubes the bar pressure feels nonexistent. I'm used to that now and DO use my...

Be careful, Peter_Frank. I fear you may be summoning Pumpy. : )

Re: soul 12m bridles, first foil kite, please help!

Looks like Armin took that video down. Don't worry too much about the mixer right now. Just know what and where it is on the kite lines/bridle.

Re: soul 12m bridles, first foil kite, please help!

They are attached to the A lines. I mean the power lines that run from the center of the bar up to the kite. Did you get a manual with the kite? The mixer is the pulley system that adjusts the lengths of A, B, C and Z when you pull on the bar or pull on one side of the bar to give steering input to ...

Re: soul 12m bridles, first foil kite, please help!

The A lines go to the leading edge, B next, then C and Z goes to the trailing edge. I'm assuming the lines are attached to the kite. As long as they are not tangled, they sort themselves out once you prefill the kite and launch it. You might want to try in light wind the first time, just to reassure...

Re: Flysurfer Soul 15m Repair

I'll just add that I used the repair tape that came with the kite. It's white nylon with adhesive on one side. It's so thin that you don't even really notice it even though there are some big strips over the orange part of the kite. Also the kite has been wet several times since I repaired it and I ...

Re: Flysurfer Soul 15m Repair

The tape works very well. I've got a bunch of tape on my Ozone foil that ripped. Avoid the hassle and tape it yourself. But I'm sure Flysurfer would help you.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: is super light wind the promised land?!

Well, I had a super session the other day in about 6-10 mph of wind--measured at the local meter. I was fully powered and able to tack. Just perfect. No whitecaps, very smooth water. I was on the AlpineFoil with the large Lift wing and a Sonic 2 15 m. I had plenty of power and was able to work on re...

Re: Straps or strapless poll

I have an Alpine foil. I put the straps right where my feet normally go. They seem right to me. When I relax in one direction, I can ignore them. The balance is good and I don't need to push or pull against them. But when I do maneuvers, they get in the way. I stub my toes, etc.
