Re: Speed 5 21 or Soul 21

@adventure logs He says he's 250 lbs and wants to ride in light wind. Maybe he does want the 21. I weigh 170 and have a 15 m Sonic 2 and the latest AlpineFoil with their big Lift wing. I sometimes consider getting an 18 m foil kite. Although, usually if I can get the 15 in the air I'm good to ride w...

Re: Boston area Kite Schools and Gear Shops

You can also try Air Support, a kite school in West Dennis on Cape Cod. My wife took lessons with them several times. They are good. They can help you with knowledge of the different kite spots. They sell equipment, too.

Re: New Never Used 2005 Slingshot Fuels!!!

Better check these. I had both these kites. Got them second hand. I had to repair the place(s) on the bladder where the strut tube valves attach. They didn't glue them on properly during manufacturing. This was a well known problem, I believe.

Re: Ogunquit maine usa ?

Hi. The local spot is north of here, Pine Point on Old Orchard Beach. Our winds are not consistent, but this spot tends to be better. Ogunquit is more of a surf spot and works on an E wind as opposed to the S or SW'erlies that we get here in summer. E winds are rare. Please be respectful of people o...

Re: Soloshot 3 - soup to nuts review

One thing that has been useful is mounting a GoPro in the hot shoe mount of the camera. That way I can get wide angle and zoomed at the same time. It doesn't do anything about the shaking, though.

Re: Soloshot 3 - soup to nuts review

I took the time to make a 30 s clip showing the shaking that is typical. I would like to upload it directly. Toby, is it possible to upload directly? Or must I upload first to YouTube (or other) and then use the link?

Re: Soloshot 3 - soup to nuts review

Montanna: Respectfully, no. I just did the update. The shaking is just as bad. I would describe it as 1,000x WORSE than someone operating the camera on a tripod. People need to be aware of this. The problem is with the mechanism itself. With the lens extended, even partially, say halfway, there is t...

Re: Soloshot3 a New way to film kiting

Anybody have any updates on using the SoloShot3? I tried mine the other day at the beach. It tracked me well while I launched the kite, but as I waded into the water the camera slowly drifted so that finally I was out of the field of view. I toggled the camera and tracking on and off throughout the ...
