Re: rip stop canopy

If a thicker (very smooth) fibre is added to a weave of smaller (smooth) fibres it will make the weave more loose. The coating makes all stiff. If you then add again a thicker fibre in the weave the weave gets a bit more loose again. If the coating does not counteract on this you may have more (bias...

Re: Your worst kitesurf injury ?

Broke my heel bone 4 weeks ago after a crash from 8-10m with boots on. Gained 2 screws at the operation 2 weeks ago....long process to recover from this one :(

Re: Zian kites

Hi Guy's, Thank you so much for the (so far) positive replies. As Robert has led the GSL factory for 5 years and a good part of our own people have decennia of production experience from there we believe to have made a good start when we set up our own production facility in Sri Lanka. Our gear does...

Re: Knots - Matching those used by Cabrinha

Knots indeed reduce strength by 50%. Some tested we did even more. But off course if you reduce strength on a 1000kg line....it is still strong enough. They will not put knots in the flying line itself but pigtail line is much stronger so no problem.

Re: Boots: Any safety tips?

The amount of controll is indeed nice and especially landing jumps with high forward speed is much better to controll. Unfortunately there is (for me) one big disadvantage and that disadvantage has just broken my heel bone in many....many pieces. The thing you dont want to happen with boots is that ...

Re: Older Zian bar depower replacement

In the last picture you hold your fingers actually on a cap. If you put a screwdriver in the depowerline hole, you can take this cap off. When you see the inside you will directly know how to replace the cord. You can mail me if it does not work out, then I'll guide you step by step. Best regards, S...

Re: In need of a new kite (FX vs TS vs Hantu)

At your homespot you can already test the FX (and Hantu) via Andre@kiteventure.nl You can test the Razor via Barry@stormchaser.nl and the Hantu via me Sebastiaan@ziankites.com. The TS you can probably test via Eurofun at Oostvoorne. It's a matter of taste and off course your wallet. Cheers, Seb.

Re: In need of a new kite (FX vs TS vs Hantu)

Simply get a cup of coffee at my house in Rockanje and we go to the beach in Rockanje, Oostvoorne or slufter and you can test any Hantu size you want ;-)

Re: Calibrate control bar (Fluidkite) - Help

You may want to consider to replace the depowercord as well as it looks pretty worn from the photo.
