Re: New lines - Dyneema Sk99

Thinner lines = less drag = faster response .... that is probably what you are talking about. Same thickenss and elasticity.... doubt anybody will feel a difference on steering as the force/weight is relatively low. People are not really objective if they know on forehand what they use. A blind test...

Re: Is there a quick method to convert a low v bar to a high v?

You can also ride your North with low V. You may like it. If not, you better do some splicing but only easy. take 30cm kiteline and make loop (which is large enough to add/remove a small SSl ring later) over 1 frontline (to which the safety is NOT attached) at 5m height then splice both ends (12 CM ...

Re: Who has Crazyfly kite? Are they durable ? How is the quality?

Yes the only ones. Take note though. Salary in Eastern Europe is far from high and dont increase as fast as in Asia. Also, we have our factory in Sri Lanka. This means that all manterials (of which multiple from EU) first goes to Sri Lanka and then back to EU again. If the most part of your bussines...

Re: Leash carabiner opening after unhook trick?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1OI6McCZqs Its an old movie but this is what happens. No force needed at all! Not a bad carabiner perse (although off course there are carabiners that can be locked). Its just that the size of the carabiner icw the size of the ring are a bad combination and the ring ...

Re: Pulleys on kites

It's in general that brands that have (or recently changed from) double frontline safety have pulley's. You need the pulley to allow most kites to flip on their back. You can easily check this yourself. Moving to single frontline safety opens more design freedom like short bridles and/or leaving out...

Re: Colors?

There are many different red dye's and pigments but in general a red indeed fades faster. That is because to see red, many dye's/pigments absorb blue (close to UV) and this has much higher energy/damage than other colors (wevelengths). This is also why neon colors are in general very sensitive. The ...

Re: Colors?

In general, to get a very bright color, the UV protection needs to be reduced so it's better to push them down a few shades. Hence: Neon / very bright colors have lower UV resistance then dark colors. Neon / very bright colors are more prone to color (fading) then dark colors. Black getting more war...

Re: rip stop canopy

If a thicker (very smooth) fibre is added to a weave of smaller (smooth) fibres it will make the weave more loose. The coating makes all stiff. If you then add again a thicker fibre in the weave the weave gets a bit more loose again. If the coating does not counteract on this you may have more (bias...
