Re: Officially announced: North becomes Duotone

I think we'll get used to Duotone. It'll be fine in the long run. There are a lot of kiteboarding brand names that aren't very sexy, and we accept them. Think about Core, RRD, HQ, Pansh, even Ozone and Liquid Force. If we weren't used to those names, they'd sound kinda' dull or cheezy. On the other ...

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

I'm not the man to do this because I don't have the time for it, but I wish someone would create an online kite coaching business: have your student put a GoPro on his/her helmet and board and go for a sesh, then analyze the riding footage, provide feedback and points, repeat. I've found reviewing ...

Re: Officially announced: North becomes Duotone

I never thought people, or at least not this many people, put that much stock in a name. I certainly find the psychology of this interesting, and have to wonder what is wrong with me that I am not in complete "lock-step" with the crowd on this one. Matteo, I think you're right......at least in the ...

Re: Gaastra pure vs switchblade

There is a reason the Switchblade is the #1 selling kite in the world. The kites huge range and boosting ability is second to none. Uhhh, that's a bit of a stretch. There are lots of kites with better range and better boosting ability than the Switchblade. I like Cabrinha kites, too, and the Switch...

Re: Kite Longboarding

Nahhh. I wouldn't spend time doing that. Just find a smaller directional that you'll be comfortable riding for a while, and learn on that. It'll be much easier to maneuver.

Re: North & Duotone - Your Questions Answered by CEO Till Eberle

"....this name [Duotone] was a perfect match for the new brand. On top of that, this name was already registered worldwide by Boards & More." This explains a lot about why Duotone was chosen as the brand name (although, as the interviewer notes, "Ion" might have also been an option). Worldwide trade...

Re: Havent been kiting for over a month..... Dont care!

If plummet is enjoying mountain biking so much that he doesn't miss kiting, then more power to him. The mountain biking (and his new bike) must be a ton of fun for him. There are lots of ways to go through life and, as long as he's outside doing an activity that makes him happy and keeps him healthy...
